I just dinged 26 and got the spell penitent sacrament and it says it consumes a penitent essence to cast. I searched the site and it says junk but not where they come from. Can someone shed some divine light on this and give a brother some info.

Hmm, from what it says on this web site, it is something that you need to forage for. Unless there is a spot where you might be able to buy them.

I am having a similar problem with this. I have discovered that the spell Blessing of Penitent, a lvl 24 buff spell, also is supposed to create a Penitent Essence when it is cast. This Essence is then expended when you cast Penitent Sacrament (Heal spell). However. After spam casting Penitent Essence for over an hour, like 30 to 40 times, I did not get ONE Essence in my inventory....

I just found the answer to my own question. What needs to happen is that you need to be IN combat during the time you have Blessing of Penitent buff up on yourself. There is a random chance, you will PROC during the blessing and an Essence will be created and end up in your inventory. With this essence, you can THEN cast the Penitent Sacrament to heal yourself.

Ahh, Thanks. I was curious about this myself.
I never cast it in combat and I have 2 in my inventory and I swear I looted them off mobs in stormhold.
Not sure how I got 2 of them but I do being that I never touch it.
