Price of Horse going down !Follow

#1 Jan 10 2005 at 11:09 PM Rating: Decent
I`m asking this question mainly to people who are in a guild and the guild is lvl 15 or more. If you know the answer, you can answer too. =P

The question is about the price of the horse. How much in price do they go down ? Half Price ? 1 Plat less ?

Thank You

0_o.. scary topic...

anywho as I understand it with a good guild the price of a horse drops 25%..

so, math time: the Elddian Charger is just over 9 plat.. but for the sake of simple math.. let's just call it 9 plat even. which is 900 gold...

25% off that is 675, soooo 6 plat and 75 gold...

still painful, but hey.. a discount's a discount.

I think the first discount come at guild lvl 25, and another discount 5 levels later. I believe these are correct numbers, but it may start at lvl 35. I'll try to find the link to it.

I was wrong, discount begins at guild level 15 for certain mounts. Here is the link:

I must say I'm really unhappy they chose to do these things. I don't really see what a guild does to deserve some of those benefits.

Special Quests/raids sound like a good idea, additional content for those who can access it.

The rest of it is simply a reward for being a larger guild and I can't see why that should be rewarded. I suppose I am being naive and the simple fact that guilds tend to lock people into games means more $$ for SoE.

I do resent that remaining guildless or in a small guild is so heavily discriminated against - especially with the crafting stations

Guilds level by the amount of status accumulated and divided over the number of patrons of said guild as I recall. In order to climb to these levels a guild's members must be very active doing CITY writs. It stands to reason there will be a benefit. Since the quest (writ) experience goes to the guild, this offsets that sacrifice. I'm not in a guild and I have absolutely no problem with them receiving this benefit.

Yes, SOE has done taken a lot of effort in trying to prevent larger guilds from having a big advantage. A player must be set as a patron of their guild to contribute their status. The more patrons in a guild, the less status the guild receives per quest, as the amount is divided by the number of patrons. So smaller guilds with fewer patrons earn more status per quest, than a large guild with more patrons.
