hey i just wanted to get some opinions on this subject...im currently a lvl 10 scholar, still learning the ropes but pickin things up pretty quickly. My question is how long should i stay in the wholesaler society before i join my tradeskill society (im in the charter of truthbringers)? Like, im still learning where to find the basic resources (electrum etc) but i want to make decent money and get my toon lvl'd up quick....at what lvl do u guys suggest i join the tradeskill society

I joined right away.. joining doesn't cost you anything but choose wisely...
Some of the Societies are higher level than others...

I know the the Outfitter Society in Greystone is in a STUPID place... What was Sony smoking when they put the dwarves and Barbarians in the same town?

That outfitter society is UNDER the boardwalk and we aren't singing here...

Have to crouch to get there and I have only seen one other person in there...

Join early and buy your other books there... you will need them.

I don't know if they are fixing the exploit about buying across your classes' books... I have managed to scribe the sage book that allows you to make Eolith Temper... I hope they don't nerf that cause people are greedy for those tempers... On Befallen's broker the cheapest this morning was 1sp each... I say BITE ME!
After combining all my money from all my characters I had just over 1gp... I was RICH!

I would suggest that you forage the north coast of Antonica near the northern bird tower for practice and saleable material.

Good luck!

Actually you can belong to 2 Societies at the same time, your Wholesaler and your Workshop. You'll need to join your Workshop as soon as you ding 10 so you can buy your next set of books.

Most people, no matter what their level, do their work in the Wholesaler simply because they are higher levels and the merchants have more variety on sale.

Near as I can tell, the only point in ever really being in the workshop is to buy the new books, since you can craft at the wholesaler much more easily, and the workshop tasks pay for crap.

You don't just do the tasks to get the reward, you do them to earn 100 status points for your Societies and level them up so the merchant has more to sell.

Workshop tasks only pay poorly at the beginning levels. Workshop tasks for Antonica pay 36s.

For instance, in Qeynos a Wholesaler task in Thundering Steppes (all "collect x number of.." quests) pays 48sp...a Workshop task (KEEP IN MIND, the Workshop will always give you a task to make something at LEAST Blue to you, so you will not get tasks to make things with TS supplies til 24-25ish) pays....1g44s.

1g44s for a task is pretty good money. With buying all the ingredients at Broker or Wholesalers, I usually make about 1g20s profit per Task, and they only take 30mins or so.

The Workshop tasks are always to make items that will give you xp also, so you're making money and xp in that time.
