Unfortunately (or fortunately, depending on your perspective) it's a little more complex than us just coming to agreement on certain prices.

You'll notice that "Adept 1" spells vary widely in price on most servers. This is due to several factors, but two of the primary factors are:

1. Drop rate of that *specific* Adept 1
2. Effectiveness of that *specific* Adept 1 when compared to it's Apprentice 3 counterpart.

For example, a quick poll of many summoners will tell you that the Apprentice 3 Tellurian pet is more effective than the Adept 1 pet. So, quite often, you will see the App 3 version priced higher than the Adept 1 (this specific case might not be true anymore, but was at release. You get the idea, though.)

There is a tried and true formula when determining value of an item. This will sound trite, or like I'm trying to be sarcastic, but I assure you I'm not. It's almost an adage: What is the value of an item? The value is equal to *precisely* what someone will pay for it at *precisely* the moment you *need* to sell it.

I know that sounds weird, but it's very true. Many times you hear people talk about "priceless" works of art. There is only one way to determine the value of a "priceless" work of art: auction it off and see what the highest bidder is willing to pay.

So, to be effective pricing your items on the market, you have to take a very proactive role. Constantly watch the market and see what other people are pricing the item at. Don't pay attention, so much, to the guy that has only 1 copy and has priced it high. Look at the folks that appear to be selling these things is some sort of small volume, and you'll get a more accurate view of what the playerbase is willing to pay. The guy with one copy who has it priced high is looking for *one* opportunity: to just happen to be the only guy online selling it when some other person happens to need it. They'd rather hold out for the "big sale" then produce a steady flow of income.

Think of how you purchase things, and that will give you some good hints at how to sell things. When I, for example, do a search for a specific item, I automatically jump to the *last* page, because that is where the cheapest items are. I start at the bottom and work my way up (particularly when buying resources). The only reason I buy from a higher priced person is because the guy who priced it 1cp lower just ran out :)
