I posted this on the main forum board, but unless it becomes popular it can get lost fast there. If you know or learn something useful about the new Specialized Training abilities, would you please post it here (and/or there)? Thanks!

A great example would be - soandso has a really long recast time - or suchandsuch doesn't stack with other buffs - or thisotherone is really killer - etc etc.

I can offer two comments:

First, the level 20 pet is excellent. It's called 'Fallen Hero' or something to that effect and is a tank pet with a wicked disease proc (if you played DAoC, it's alot like the Cabalist's Emerald Simulacrum). It does serious damage- I've seen it double hit plus proc with total damage in the 130-140 range- can pull with a conjured missle weapon and, best of all, generates aoe Hate so that you, the caster, can actually do some additional damage without getting aggro. It doesn't Taunt exactly but I have seen it be able to get aggro off me and back onto it in some instances after I've over-damaged the mob. It's totally revitalized me as a Necromancer.

Secondly, it would seem that Static Pulse and Bludgeoning earth are now on the same recast timer, so they no longer stack. We're back down to two stackable DoTs (unless you take one as your Training skill at 20- that one might still stack with the other two).

No the specialized single target DOT is on the same timer as well as the other two. The only other DOT's not on the same timer are the group ones. Sorta sucks but I guess they thought we were overpowered with the ability to cast 3 stacking DOT's at once.

I realize that this isn't exactly related to this topic but I wanted to comment here since it's a change I've noticed post-patch.

I'm seeing alot more Interrupts now than I did before the Big Patch. Before, I could be in combat and, unless I got hit really hard, I could get my spells off. Now, I'm seeing that even a missed attack has a chance to Interrupt me while a high damage spell or melee hit almost certainly will Interrupt my casting.

The day after the big patch I noticed a huge change to the Spec. Training descriptions. I have refused to select - I still don't know what they all mean. But now I have a much better idea. The Spec. Training options all seem to upgraged an existing spell.

For Sorc's u get a faster casting root, a btter Magi Shielding w/ a chance to proc for a bit more power, a Static Pulse upgrade that lowers magic, heat and poison resist, or an upgrade to Storm of Lightning.

One Sorc I talked to in game did root and said it is noticeably faster casting. All others chose shielding. I need to chose soon - can't finish quests - but since the Sta P upgrade lowers 3 resists - that could be really useful - IF - monsters don't just totally resist the spell after a certain lvl. At that point Shield seems best, cuz it doesn' get replaced until much higher lvlls - if at all.

I guess i need to go back into game and ask Wizzes to find out if Static Pulse gets resisted or not.

Good to know about Summoners/Conj - the ohter gnome of EvilGnomes plays Conj. Got some sort of pet upgrade for lvl 10 and that pet has pulled agro off us several times - never did before. GL all. Pls post any other helpful points for Spec Training!

For all the aspiring conjurors out there...

I've made some comments on the power of this ability, only because I'm so amazed by it's power. When you get to choose an ability as a conjuror, it is essential to choose Tellurian Hero.

This pet is ridiculous. Simply put.

It tanks like nobody's business, and it's damage output is marvelous. It generates hate on it's own now, apparently, and it now takes a great deal of damage from me to be able to pull the mob off of IT and onto ME. It even pulls with a ranged weapon. I couldn't be happier. It has rekindled my interest in my mage and made me stop playing my Mystic. And I love my Mystic, hehe.

Tellurian Hero is the cat's meow. Bottom line.
