Hey I was just wondering What EQ2 is like. I was thinking about getting that or FF11 over the summer to play. I just quit WoW it suked past lvl 20 to me, and other reasons. Also I liked EQ1 and was hoping eq2 is like it only fixed the problems with eq1.

EQ2 does have some problems, but it's still fun. I don't know if they fixed anything from EQ1 as I haven't played it. FFXI is fun too. Somethings you may want to keep in mind when choosing one or the other:

1. What type of game do you want? Do you want PvP? Are you willing to only play PvE? EQ2, currently and probably for a long time, does not have PvP. FFXI, there's something called Ballista that you can do.

2. What kind of player are you? Do you enjoy soloing sometimes and grouping when you feel like it? FFXI is very restrictive when it comes to soloing. EQ2 offers a greater range of soloability, but it still has a few issues.

3. What style of player are you? Do you enjoy Roleplaying? If you do, then EQ2 would be a better choice. FFXI as far as I have seen, contain very few players who roleplay. I rp about half the time I'm in FFXI but I rp 100% of the time I'm in EQ2.

4. Are you willing to settle for imperfection? Even though FFXI still can't be considered "perfect", it does have most of its wrinkles smoothed out. EQ2 is only a couple months old and as such, the economy hasn't settled, issues are still being resolved, many changes are ocurring almost, if not, weekly.

Didn't complete my thought for the first sentence. ><

I say this over and over... and will continue until I am blue in the fur. EQ2 has cute little anthropomorphic rats! *Does a little dance and wiggles her tail.* Yay!

Whats Ballista like? And which ever I get I am not getting till this summer(May something) so thats a long time, and they could fix alot. I dont really like RPing. But I do wanna bealbe to solo some and grouping some. Thats why I quit WoW soloing wasnt really fun and grouping was way worse then EQ1. And other reason. Someone told me Combat in EQ2 and FF11 are really slow. And I have also heard that its hard to find groups on both, and both you are forced to group.

Yeah FFXI has ballista but it isnt what you think .. First you have to pay 7k to get a license to even play, then its nothing more than capture the flag with the excpetion you can target and hurt other players . You don't gain no experiance off of it and its mainly for country status points...keep this in mind if you are choosing this game solely on PvP. Also On FFXI as you gain higher lvls ppl become picky based on prefernce and gear and subjob.not to mention to lvl your main you may end up lvling several of your subjobs.. this can be annoyting particuly in the higher lvl. I say this based on xperiance. To even lvl my 59 RDM i had to lvl my 28summoner and 14white mage and 14blackmage. This proves tedious because the battle system isnt the same as EQ2 and after about lvl 12 for melee and 8 to 10 for casters you have to party with others. EQ2 on the other hand makes soloing and the class syestem simple but fun and partying isnt required if you don't feel like it..you can solo and still get lvls might be slower but atleast you can . FFXI doesn't give that option.I am a bit jaded about FFXI but trust me im not the only one who has left the game due to these things. THats my 2cents worth either way both are good games just two very different animals when it comes to RPG types.
