Yes, in my opinion anyway.

Again yes, that is what I believe. Although it does have its flaws I am really enjoying it.

Unfortunatly there is no way to try it before you buy it(none to my knowledge) So only way to know for certain if you will like it, is to try it yourself.

Kouranx is a good poster - you should listen to him. Me, I'm a Smiley: jester - so take everything I say w/ a Mt. Everest-sized grain of salt.

However, if you loved EQ1, and if you loved the variety of tactics and spells - like Druids, Necros and Bards have - you will likely not like EQ2. It's got almost no variety of spells and almost no choice of tactics - well, tactics are limited to simple and obvious ones, imo. But if your background is FF or DaoC - EQ2 is made for you. Literally.

All I can say to both posts is that they know what they are talking about. But for sure i love the game i loved EQ1 and at first didnt like EQ2 but i stuck with it for a couple of levels and then i realized that this game is better put together such as the way they orgainze quests in a journal, the way you recieve your spells, but really i would recommend it...if you see someone saying they dont like it have them explain what they dont like about the game. thats my 2 cp worth.

My rate may be low, and that's cause I speak the truth. Is eq2 worth your money? I do play it MUCH less then EQ1, but that's because I can get so much more accomplished in little time then in EQ1. There's always a quest to do that takes like.. 10 minutes. There's always fun things to explore. There's just a lot to do. Even if you don't have 10 minutes, you can make an item crafting and at least do SOMETHING. So this game will keep your hands full. I haven't even seen a screenshot from WoW so I can't judge/compare. But I do know that if you go EQ2, you won't return it =).

I find it hard to believe that the majority of posts ANYwhere would say that E2 s***ed. And if that were somehow true, the substance of the disclaimers would tell as much as the numbers.

Personally, I think it's better in a few ways, and resembles DAOC 2 more than EQ 2. It certainly has matured as a game, and has many good qualities.

Granted, the $50 investment to buy the game isn't cheap, but I would urge a realistic appraisal of it's potential value, rather than "so and so says.......".

Nobody can really answer that for YOU. If you currently enjoy FFXI, EQ1, WOW, or any other MMORPG and would not quit them otherwise then I would not recommend it. Otherwise? Sure... why not?

Graphically, yes.

Other than that, no. I'm trying to give it time, but I think I'll end my subscription soon. But you may love it so I say again, nobody can really answer these questions for YOU.

This game is a step backwards from EQ1: Fact

A big step backwards: Opinion

I hope Dark and Light lives up to it's potential:http://www.gametrailers.com/download.php?id=855&type=wmv&f=

EQ2 is only a few months old. When EQ1 first came out I'm sure there were those who were saying that it is a huge step backward from final fantasy (or whatever else came before eq1). Why even compare EQ1 and EQ2? Maybe once EQ2 is a few years old it would make sense but until then, this discussion is pretty much useless.
