I will be getting into Alchemy (since I want to make poisons.) However, inorder to progress I need a recipe book named "Artistan Componets Volumes 5&6"
I have tried several websites but could hardly find any information of where this book drops.
The only place I have seen it in game was at the broker selling for about 25-30gold which is ridiculous for the skill level of items that I'll be making.
Does anyone know where this book drops? or where I can purchase one?

All the main items you need will be in the Essentials. You can buy these from your trade instances.
The additional books use rare componets, and are not required. They are nice to have, but early on your better off selling the rare and taking the cash then trying to make something from it.
I Belive this one may be a drop item from low level mobs. Keep an eye for it on the broker, or create an alt and wander around the newbie area (NOT LOR, but at the cities) around level 7-9.

I got a copy off a stone guardian in Oakymist. Shuffled it onto my trade skiller toon and memmed it. Not that I have ever even seen a rare resource to go and refine with it.

I too have this book..........got it off a random mob in "the ruins" hope this helps
Hunt forgotten Guardians in Forest Ruins or Great Bears or Oakmyst Great Bears in Oakmyst Forest (or the spirits). Most classes can solo green ^^s, and these tend to drop the books.
Another book that's inSANEly rare is Artisan Refining Volume 4. You need that and the 5&6 book, if I recall, to convert copper to cochineal ink (to make tier 1 adept 3s). I finally got vol. 4 - got 5&6 when u could get em off gobs on ior. Have 2 copper sitting in my bank - no idea waht I wanna do with em. See it selling fo r 17 gold each. Maybe I ought to sell them. GL
