I'm level 8. I have only 5 small bags, and maybe 2sp to my name. Money is hard to come by and all bags are very expensive. I'm working on building the Elm Box but it requires a bunch of, again, harvested items.

I want to sell harvested items but I also want to accumulate a few - and there are so many you really can't until you have some kind of bags. I end up with 1-3 of everything then my bank and inventory is full.

So I destroy a bunch of things which is silly, because people need this stuff and I need the money. At the rate I'm going I'll end up locked out of my room for failure to pay the rent, and then I won't be able to sell items to make money to pay the rent ! LOL

How is/did everyone end up dealing with bags and full inventory at the early stages like this? Did you fill up at the isle of refuge on those 1sp bags? Are you ignoring harvesting ? Do you manage to sell the stuff one piece at a time ?

I found that I was doing quests until level 10 anyway. In doing the quests I made enough coin to buy a few bags. Another way to go would be to hook up with a guild and see if any of the crafters will sell you packs at cost or even donate a couple to get you going.

Best of luck,
minky

Quest, quest, quest. I found much the same problem with space - in fact I still do. But money is NOT hard to come by. I recently started a new character and bought 4 bags on the IoR to get me started. Then used the tin and elm to make a strongbox. Quality doesn't really matter to start with. Anything is better than a plain bank slot. There are so many quests that pay a few silver or yield a product that vendors will pay for. Even converting those roots into Chloro Resin/Wash/Oil and selling it to players makes you decent change.

The economy is going to change dramatically today if they really have closed off the Wholesaler Task loophole (allowing quest credit for broker-bought items). We'll all have to see how it settles down.

Storage is the worst aspect of the game so far but we have to power to make our own solution

in addition, there are several quests that will net you some bags :). go to the quests here, and look at the normal ones... cntrl+f to find... and type bag, back or sack to find em :). not sure of the fp equivalent, but there's a quest for an 8 slot bag in nettleville in qeynos that's an in-zone 2-errand run :).

There is also a dropped 6 slot bag with a 5% weight reduction on the Isle of Refuge. Either of the named Gruttooth goboboblins often drop this. Finishing the tutorial tradeskill quest nets you a 4 slot bag. If you are Freeportian, Krysa the 'pretty' ratonga barmaid's( Located in Temple Street) second quest gives you a *snicker* used makeup case that is a four slot container. There's another ontainer reward from one of the NPCs in Beggar's court. There are numerous others but my tiny rodentia brain cannot dredge them up at the moment.

As ya level up and sell the random things you find from the broken bodies of the vanquished, you'll generally find you'll usually end up with enough to cover the basics of food and water, rent, and the (hopefully) occasional trip to the mender.

Good luck to ya!

Quest for a bit, don't take up crafting till level 12 or so (it's dead easy to make up the lost time) Then make elm strongboxes (pristine=8 slots for yer bank, read up on the crafting threads that you can get to from the loggin screen, they're awesome and guide you to making pristine items on a never fail basis). just from the quests you'll make enough money to fill your inventory with 6 slot bags, then hope for the bootstrider's adventure drop, which, with a little running around in commonlands nets a big ole bag for you, after that, maple strongboxes for yer bank (pritine= 12 slots) yay.

I didn't have a problem with storage, within the first week i had enough boxes and wt reduction bags made to outfit 2 charicters and shared bank slots.

It is not for nothing that wood and roots are the easiest things to obtain on IoR. 1 stack of wood, 1 of roots and 2 of tin should be enough to make 10 boxes <thats 4 slots in your bank slot.>

Most boxes you make should be 6-7 slot and the bags 5-6 slot with 5-10% wt reduction.

All availible to any artisan class.

What type of artisan do you have to be to make them containers, tarv?

i never really had a problem with bags.. had 8 boxes (for my bank) the 6 slot gobbie bag and 5 of the 6 slot 5% reduce packs before i left the beginners island.

Try crafting, at the beginners island it is really easy to get to lvl 9 crafting (max until you get to your city and do the quest) and make some good stuff to use with almost no cost at all (just the fuels) as the harvesting things are all over there and spawn quickly (can get stacks of things in a short time)

And make sure you do the harvesting quests, never go out without one, the rewards increase as you go up in level. Then when you join your workshop, do the crafting quests also.

Maple Strongboxes can be made by anyone since they are pre lvl 10 and so before class selection.

The recipe is round lvl 5 i think so look in Artisans essentials Vol 5, availible now from you friendly local supplier of tradeskill Books.

I think you meant ELM

Maple is listed as being in Craftsman Essentials 15.

Don't sweat paying your rent! Well... they may have just fixed this. But before your rent is due, just gather your junk and relinquish the apartment. Then "buy" a new one - yer not buying it , it's free - and go back in and put your junk back down on the floor.

Also, if you've let your rent get overdue - don't repay the rent until you really, really need back inside. It's 5 silver no matter how long u take to pay it off.

Yes, elm boxes are makeable by anyone. Maple boxes hold up to 12 things and are made around lvl 15 artisan by ... not scholars ... gah - can't remember if it's outfitters or providers. One or the other.

Yeah, do bag quests - and as you hunt in Antonica hope that Bootstrutter's Field Guide to Antonica drops - examine it, read it, and accept the quest. It takes a LONG time but nets u a free 10 slot bag. GL

So I title the thread "Bagquest"...... I'm playing a game with hundreds or thousands of quests....... and it never occurs to me to quest for bags. OK, I'm dense. Done a bunch of baq quests now plus buying, and I'm all set.

In any event I found one other solution. Call to Arms in North Qeynos sells the small bag, four slots, for 90cp. Why an armorer sells bags I dunno but that's one other way you can solve the storage problem.
