I was wondering, I want to upgrade from 512Mb of RAM to 1gig of RAM and was wondering if I would see a significat performance increase with a dual channel board setup with 1gig, or if just 1gig of NON-dual channel RAM would work just as good?

No, you probably would not even notice the difference. The is a difference but its 1-2%.
I have dual channel on two comps and one is wihtout it and I dont see the difference...
