Delay in a macro?Follow

#1 Jan 05 2005 at 4:13 PM Rating: Decent
Hey all, just wondering since i've tryed everything i knew, is there a way to make a delay of 2 seconds on a macro line...
I tryed alot of stuff, unfortunatly nothing worked.
pause, break, wait, delay nothing worked. If theres a way to make it please tell me :)
Its for a HO macro. But might be for something else later too.

My curent line is:

"/cutthroat ; gsay Starting HO in 2 seconds... ; (add 2 seconds pause here) ; useability Lucky break"

I saw a guy who had it when i was like lvl 16, but i forgot to ask him before he left the group :(
Ever since im trying to find out how to make a damn delay lol
Thanks for helping.

using what i know from eq1...

/cutthroat ; gsay Starting HO in 2 seconds... ; pause 20 ; useability Lucky break

... maybe :).

/pause 20

was the line you'd use in eq1 to pause for 2.0 seconds, but you'd put it at the beginning of the line you wanted the pause in front of... so you might try this if the first one doesnt work:

/cutthroat ; gsay Starting HO in 2 seconds... ; useability Lucky break ; pause 20

... even though that doesnt make a lot of sense. you'd think they'd have changed it ;).

Things you CANNOT do with a macro (as till the time i type):

- you cant make a macro push a hotkey (no command for it and i think it is intetional)

- you cant insert a pause... no command for it again, if there is one or a way round it, plz plz PLZ post it!

I read that here (Macroing in EQ2, guiding your blades...)

The reason for the no-pushing-a-hotkey-with-a-macro is because you could then route two hotkeys to push each other. that would probably overload the game as you could never get it to stop and no doubt there are some ways to use it for exploiting (tsing perhaps? consta-push ts buffs). No idea for the pause though, but the no routing to hotkeys in macros is a sensible idea. presumably there is also a reason for not being able to insert pauses into macros as well.

just my 2cp
