Hi folks,

Level 18 Crusader here in Qeynos, on the path to becoming a Paladin. At least I THOUGHT I was, until tonight...

I got the first part of the archtype quest that says "Kill 25 gnolls that pose a challenge to you". I understand this to mean "kill 25 gnolls that *are not grey to you*".

I wander around Antonica for a while, and I actually had a hard time, initially, finding non-gray gnolls. So, I zone into BB, figuring there'd have to be a TON of gnolls there that are at least green to me.

So, I zone in to BB, wander around for a bit, and finally find some green gnolls. I kill 2 of them. I get experience. No quest update.

I think to myself "Maybe the kills must take place in Antonica to be valid", so I zone back out of BB. I come across a group killing a bunch of green (to me) Darkpaw Soldiers. There were two groups of 6 gnolls, and every gnoll conned green to me.

They let me join, and I tanked for them. We sliced through the first group of 6. I get experience. No quest update.

We slice through the 2nd group of 6. I get experience. No quest update.

What in *the hell* am I doing wrong? Where are the damned magic gnolls that I need to bribe to give me a quest update. I've already killed about 14-15 xp-bearing gnolls (all green to me) and have not gotten a *single* quest update.

Do they actually need to be blue-con or higher, and not green-con as the quest guide suggests?

Well, I chose to fight Sabretooth Battlers. The ones that roam near the covered bridge and they were green to me at lvl 18 (and 19), they didn't give me much xp but they did give me quest update.

I don't exactly know what they mean with 'pose a challenge', I've fougth blue ones too, no quest update, but the green Sabretooth Battlers gave it, even if only green mobs.

Oh cool. Thanks for the sanity check! I'll check that area out and see if I can finally complete this quest :)

Yea fly to Oracle Tower. Go up hill, and across the bridge right there. From there to the covered bridge, you will find plenty of blue/green gnolls at level 19.

No, I found my green solo Sabretooth Battlers at the southern covered bridge. They aren't abundant, but they spawn pretty quick, they are the only ones that roam across the path near that bridge.

Nevertheless, if you find any others that give the quest update and give better xp, take those :)

I went to the Southern cave entrance with a small group, two other pallys and a betrayer. We worked the three groups of mobs that first appear and are split as two at the entrance, two a little ways in and five around the corner. By the time you finish all three groups and go back to the cave opening the first two spawn again in about 5 minutes. Do this cycle four times and the pallys are done. Any mobs wandering in the area should be gray, so even aggressive wolves and bears leave you slonr.

The gnolls outside of Blackburrow and in the forest around the entrance. Rune casters etc. were all light blue to me at that level. You also have to look at the level of your group and make sure no one is too much higher as it is much tougher to find xp gnolls. The con of the mob is based on the highest level in the group or average level not positive. As for single solo gnolls the battlers on the road are the way to go.

I got quest credit for these while in a group that made the gnolls near the bottom of BB grey. Weird, but whatever.

I went to the area of the southern covered bridge, as suggested above, and that did the trick! The Sabertooths that walk across the road are green to me at level 18, and each one gives me quest credit. Spawn rate is nice too. I was just messing around, and it didn't take me long at all to rack up 13/25 kills.
