Phantasmal Splendor broken?Follow

Hi, are there any hints or clues to this one.

When i cast the subject spell on a group of engaged mobs, the spell is interupted immediatly and has no effect on the mobs. I don't move, i cast no other spells etc.

Is the spell broken, what am i doing wrong if it isn't?

This spell breaks as soon as one of the encounter mobs gets hit .

The only real use for this spell I find is to off mezz when an entire encounter adds to the mobs we are currently killing . So we have our mobs we are killing and another walker walks by adding with his friends , I use my aoe mezz to mezz the entire pack of adds , as no one should be hitting any one of them , they should all be assisting the MT on his target.

So basically it is only good when no one will hit ANY of the mobs from that encounter. If you use it on the engaged mobs then it will break as soon as someone attacks a mob, as it is only able to mezz the whole pack of mobs as they are one mob, so you hit one mob in a pack of mobs you mezzed and it will wake up and wake all of it`s friends up as well .

Thank you for the information Lady Fairystears. It makes sense now :) Although the spell description could probably do with being clarified.

Well thank you all for clearing up this spell. Now that I know how it works, how do I change my sub-class. In EQ1 I am 53 Enchantress, and as of level 24 in EQ2 I am extremely displeased with the Illusionist sub-class. This spell used an a mass-mezz would be great, now it is almost useless. In EQ1 Enchanters ruled the lands... in Burning Woods I would charm a Wurm, buff the snot out of it an solo the Giant Fort. 1 Enchanter vs 7 - 8 Giants... no promblems. In EQ2, I can haste, breeze, and Mezz... other than that I have to hide. It is very difficult to solo anything above a green, event though I have 36 spell slots instead of 8 like in EQ1.

Something needs to change with this class to make it useful, or this main will soon be sitting and collecting dust as I make one of my Alts my new Main.
