Okay, I may be asking a stupid question, but nothing ventured nothing gained. Is there any way to see how often certain items sell on the server/how much they are selling for? I'm totally lost when it comes to selling my stuff because I have little to no frame of reference to go on.

It's not so bad with common items like roots and wood and rocks, but when I get something more rare, no one else is selling it so I have no way of knowing how much to ask for it. For instance, the other day I mined a rough lapis lazuli, I went to sell it and one other person had it listed for like 12g, which seems very high for someting I mined in The Sprawl.

Using the only other MMORPG I've played as reference, FFXI, I have to say I liked its' system better overall. You could at least see how often something was selling and what people would realistically be willing to pay for it. I love that I can sell as many items as I can carry, bravo for that, but having to be in my room to do it is a chore sometimes. Anyway, if I've missed some feature that would help in regards to seeing a browser-wide receipt of sales let me know.

Unfortunetly, you are not missing anything. If there is not another up for sale, the best thing to do is head for a very populated area (the Commonlands around FP. not sure for Qeynoes), and ask for a pricecheck. I'm sure I dont have to tell you this, but dont listen to a price check from someone who wants to buy it as well, lol. I know it is after the fact, but Lapis usually go for about 5 to 7gp on my server, but you will see fools trying to sell them for up to 20gp LOL.

You can put something up, and if it does not sell for a couple of days, then you can bet that it is priced too high. Trying taking 10% of asking price off, and see if it sells then. Ask if anyone wants to buy it in the /auction channel in a large area, and see what ppl say. If several ppl start complaining about the price, there may be a problem.
