I play a Warden and the other night I hit level 26, The character Trait window popped up and give me about 6 ot 7 choices, well one of the choices was Foot Steps of Tunare, which was described as allowing me to be able to track at scout level. As soon as I chose the skill nuthing happened , no button or anything so I petitioned a GM and all they could tell me was that Wardens dont ever get track and they could not reset my Trait, but my question is that if I wasant meant to use it why was it ever a choice? Has anyone else had this problem?

Current you can pick any trait, even one you can not use. As it is 1/4 of the classes in the game get tracking which makes it rather pointless.. Especialy if they let everyone take it. ;)

Your SOL until the next major patch. At that point everyone should be able to re-select their traits. Hopefully they will have them limited to ones you can use, if not suggest picking one you can actualy use. :) This is a known issue and has been posted about a few times on EQ2's main forums.
