Will at 512mb Ram 64mb ATI Laptop work with EQ2?Follow

I'm about to get a laptop and generally they are around 512mb RAM and 64MB ATI video cards...it's usually a big jump in price to get to the 128mb ATI cards which I can't afford on a laptop...but I need the compatibility for other things....will this work with EQ2 that it's bearable? or will it be choppy as hell? thanks in advance!!! =D

I dont know if it would be very playable on that setup. I think you would need to either get a better vid card, or (since you said u cant get the better vid card) get some more RAM. Maybe go to 1gb if you can. Otherwise, I think a 64mb vid card will be trouble, as it still does not run great on my 2.66gHz 512mb RAM 256mb GeForce Le. But, I cant really tell how much of that is lag, and how much is chopping.

I doubt that will run it.

I started out on a notebook with 512 RAM and a 128 Video card, and I can tell ye, everything was fine until I got into full group battles, and then I suffered.

And by the way, yes it was an extra 200 bucks (8 months ago) for the video upgrade to 128MB, but worth it.

well, I've been playing for quite a while with 1.66gHz 512ram and ati radeon 9000 64mb and I don't have serious problems at all. Yes I get significant lag in high traffic zones. Yes I need to reboot after 3 or 4 hours. Yes I run in extreme performance. But all that is easily overlooked for such a great game. Normally, to cut back lag, I go the zone I plan on spending some time in, camp, reboot, start again in that zone = and I'm able to play lag free for hours. The longest I've gone in a zone w/o ANY lag issues was 10 hours (commonlands). So the answer is yes, you can play with a horrid video card and low ram rather nicely.

(I was just given a Radeon 9600xt 256mb card recently and am yet to install. I'm eager to see the difference!)

I bought a laptop it had an amd 64bit 3200+, 512mg of ram and an ati 9700pro 64mg. I also have a very good cable connection to the net. It worked ok sometimes there was alittle lag it wasnt to bad. I went ahead and got it to 1g of ram and moved up my aperture size abit so more of the ram is used by my vid card to handle the load and it works fine now. But yes it still lags alittle but so does my regular system and it is far better than my laptop.
