Making a Priest, need suggestionsFollow

#1 Dec 31 2004 at 5:12 PM Rating: Default
I am making a priest for the first time (Halfling) and with my main I have made these Apprentice II spells:

Minor Healing
Courage
Arch Minor Healing

After I am off the IoR I need some help with choosing between:

Shaman --- (How closely do they follow the EQ1 shaman?)
Druid --- (Again, same question)
(Whats the difference between Wardens and Furies?)
Cleric --- (Did this in EQ1... never had a problem getting groups but OMG is it boring!)

Any constructive help would be appreiciated!

Short version:

Shammy: Only that they CAN buff and that they have disease/poison DoTs
Druid: Almost completely different. No more kiting.
Warden/Fury: Warden is the buffer line of the two, IMO a babby-sitter. Fury is the Damage dealer, Nuker.
Cleric: With RH spells paying attention to battle is very necissary, and Inquisitors are fun for those who want to try a "different", more dps, cleric who can participate in battle by doing more than debuffing.

I can only speak as a level 19 shaman. Here's some things that I think are familiar from EQ1, and things that are new to the shaman:

1. They still have the "Spirit" line of buffs. The details are a bit different but they perform buffs similar to EQ1.
2. They still have SoW, although its does not appear to be as fast as in EQ1.
3. They still have direct heals some heal small HP, some heal large amounts of HP.
4. They still have DoT spells. Again, they ar not 100% identical to EQ1.
5. They now have Ward spells. I dont remember having these in EQ1, but basically they are "shield" type spells that absorb damage for a limited time so instead of healing your groupmates, you are preventing damage from happening in the first place.
