Can wizards solo?Follow

Sure we can!
You should be able to pull down any non red solo mob with ease.

Step 1. Chain/Root
Step 2. hit them with every dot you have (I have 4)
Step 3. Chain/Root them again
Step 4. HO / lightning nuke / Big Nuke
Step 5. Medium Nuke
Step 6. Medium Nuke
Step 7. Mob dies

Trying to take down ^^ mobs is asking for trouble, it can be done but OLNY greens and use only your dots and HO's for power efficiancy

EDIT: also, use your stun spell if they break the root spell early. Stun then Chain

Until u get the extra dots and stuns, it can be dicey, esp. if yer used to easily taking down say green ^^'s w/ another class, like priest (priests are pretty good at soloing cuz they can heal mid fight).

My lil pre-Wiz was GREAT on IoR! I'd twinked him by putting app lvl 3 upgrades of Lightning Burst, Static Pulse and Chains in the shared bank - and woot. He lit up that lil island! Hahahah.

But between lvls ... hm, 8 and 13 or so - it wasn't so great. Mid to higher teens you start to get the spells they talk about. And it gets better. Just get over that hump and yer okay.

Well it depends on what you like to go after. Yeah, I could dust a red, but I go after various group mobs. And if root breaks, it has such a slow recast that.... Hey, I bet in those levels I coulda taken down reds - it's really hard to do that later on - but as a wiz you can get into trouble fast.

I guess. I'm going summoner now. Got an adept 1 pet and am able to kill some pretty hard stuff, esp. now that I have pet heal. W/ the pet life is much easier soloing. Still need to figure some angles to kill even tougher stuff. But I'm pretty much limited to root, sic the pet on what isn't rooted - and see how it goes (for groups).

Wiz has to work much harder to solo, fights are intense. But wears me out. Root needs to hold well for it to work (if I'm fighting something that can melee me to bits in no time). Root and DoT of course. DD breaks root too often. I root-dot and then nuke and HO at the end if I know I'm past the point where the mob can kill me, and I just want the fight over.

Heheh as a wiz soloing you have two options. One is to nuke or DoT something, have it charge you, and you melee it while HOing. You can actually gun down reasonably big mobs this way, but usually *not* bigger group mobs. Many green ^^s will eat my lunch if I do this.

For those I root dot. Dots usually don't break root. You root, then cast dots... and wait... and watch them on the left for time running out - redo root and redo Dots... and wait... and oops root broke - do not turn on melee - just reroot and back off. Okay that hurt, yer down 1/3 health. Redo Dots... and at this point roots will basically hold & you win. Or they dont and u have to run.

If yer fast about yelling, turning and hitting sprint and running, you can often get away. As long as u yell and end conflict u start regening power at a high rate, esp if u are using player made drinks - but sometimes u die. That's how I solo.
