sorry guys, looked all over but can't find a list of just what agility does for scout. Thanks in advance for any help.

>>Q: Just what is the effect of agilty on the scout. I would think it helps with AC bonus and dodge proc like in other jobs, along with helping inpove acc of ranged. What I want to know is does mele dmg relie heavily on AGI too? I'm looking at possiably making a troll swashbuckler for the sake of being differant.
This troll would live inside of Guild parties pretty much exclusively, and not likely to be doing as much sneaking as a standard scout would.
Would the troll's greater STR and tankishSTA not be sufficent given a dedicated healer and mezzer?
If a large part of the scouts DPS comes from AGI then forget it. If the mele DMG of a scout is still derived from STR and not AGI then I should be golden no? Within this very special set of circumstances i mean.

mainly agi is used to get more power the higher your agi the higher your power will be so youll be able to do more special attaks/buffs/whatever before running out. as a lvl 23 assasin i have an agi of i think 69 and have over 750 power so when in groups im usually the last one to run out and on an average group of mobs can use my special attacks one after another and only end up at about half power and lay out some serious dps.

and race doesnt really matter to much on class. cause your going to get gear that will boost your stats anyways as you lvl. you may be a little underpowered when you first start but by the time your in the teens you should have no problem.

i believe the power part it is true...but also for brd type agi it is needed for songs later on and i would assume that agi helps evasion and speed in combat also but not sure

AGI helps a scout in 3 ways. It increases the size of a scout's power pool, it increases damage avoidance, and it gives the scout more melee damage accuracy.

The first reason is pretty straightforward. More AGI = more power. The second reason is important. From the posts I've seen, high AGI is better then high AC for taking less damage. As for the third reason, STR increases the damage you do, but AGI increases the amount of times you hit. AGI is widely believed to be the most important stat a scout can have for those reasons but don't neglect your STR either.

I've found that as a half elf, with all my racial traditions leaning towards increasing my AGI, that I do good damage. In your case, you should do even more considering that trolls have very good starting STR.

Agility makes you
1. More Accurate
2. Harder to hit
and some of the stuff from above...AGI is EVERYTHING to a scout... no matter what class... I know level 40+ scouts that can tank better than any tank ever could because of their high agi... High agi makes you wayyy harder to hit...It also makes you very accurate... I can't hit a level 39-40 at level 32, but as soon as i boost my agi up another 20 i can hit then really really easily...

Regarding scout tanking:

This is no longer an effective strategy for mobs level 40+. The effects of agi against these mobs have been severely cut, and it's probably for the best. ^_^ My condolences to monks and bruisers.
