What is your combat skill setup?Follow

#1 Dec 29 2004 at 12:24 PM Rating: Good
Just thought we could create a string here to get a better idea of how people organize their hotkeys for the combat skills. Please include your level and a little description on why your setup happens to be that way. If you have no reason simply state: "I am orge" or "I barbnarin."

Currently my setup (lvl 23 guardian):

SHIFT 2 (main combat set)
1- Concussion (just put this here to replace Wild Swing)
2- Knee Break (Interruption action replaced Kick)
3- Slam (Replaced Mangle)
4- Shield Bash (Since I have Adept on this stil use it for interrupts)
5- Wound (DoT attack)
6- Hold the Line (Use this if I'm in a high DPS group. They need to stay close)
7- Assault (AOE attack for use in combo with HTL, or when there is no chanter)
8- Battle Tactics (HP increasing group buff, also helps gain aggro)
9- Shouting Cry (awesome for my level aggro gaining action)
0- Forced Swing (for when I'm stunned)
- - Taunting Blow (here for when some ******* tries to show me up)
= - Sentinel (if I lose aggro to one of the weaker group members)

SHIFT 1 (Main set)

1- Attack
2- Anger (replaced Taunt but so far isnt very effective)
3- Assist
4-
5-
6- Auto Follow
7-
8- Ranged bow attack
9- Stand/Sit
0- Inc message
- -
= - May Target is message

SHIFT 3 (Tradeskill set)

SHIFT 4 (Misc set)
I have Intervene on this set, which I commonly cast on healers/chanters in the group, informing them they should stay near to mitigate damage if they get aggro.

Can see my level down there *points to sig*
I have two rows for my abilities, one above the other. My ability progress bar and HO wheel pop up right above both rows.

First Row:
1 HO starter
2-4 All taunts (taunt, anger, shout)
5-8 Combat abilities that continue HO wheel (forced swing, mangle, wound, concussion)
9 Knee break
0 Assault
- Taunting Blow (or whatever it's called)
= Shield Bash

Second Row:
1 Gnoll Rage
2-whatever Buffs that affect only me (toughness, Hunker Down, HTL, etc.)
whatever-end Party affecting buffs. First three are Call to Arms, Battle Tactics and Rallying Cry. Then ending with my latest gained abilities Sentinel, Allay

I also have another row for my sprint, call for help, tending wounds (stupid choice...), melee attack, range attack and fun spell. Still need to create group notification macros. I also have a showhood macro and time macro for rp reasons.

Set 1
All my attacks, ending with HO starter on = key.

Set 2
All my buffs, whether they are self or group.

Set 3
All my reaction type skills, such as sprint, intervene or feign death.

Set 4
Miscellaneous, such as call to Queynos or sonic vision. I also find that putting my "Rage" skills here makes it easier for me to see when they pop to be used again.
