What would be "most bang for my buck?"Follow

Well I decided I'm going to build a new PC but I'd like to get something in the "sweet spot", hopefully something that is upgradable for a reasonable amount of time.

I have the case, power supply, and the other components worked out. But when it comes to the processor and mobo I am clueless. I know I want to go AMD. But that is as far as I have come. Any suggestions will be appriciated.

Mobo: http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=13-131-451&depa=0 (Read the Reviews)

Proccessor:http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=19-103-394&depa=0

Side note. An AMD running at 2.1 is an intel running at 3.0 =).

And the motherboard is extremely reliable. Asus is what ya want =)

Edit: I'm running the 1.8 gigz AMD Athlon XP 2500+ and it plays EQ no problem.

Another thing you might wanna look into is a sound card. If you use on-board sound like I do, it can take from 14-20% of your CPU speed. That said... This is what you should get. (What I'm buying shortly)http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=29-102-179&depa=0
