I just completed the F->Q betrayal for my DE. What an incredible pain in the ***.

There's a really good walkthrough that you may have seen here:

http://uncommonvalor.eq2network.com/betray.html

However, there are a couple of items that need clarification.

1. Felzik Dursin never did spawn for me in Windstalker Village. I assembled a full group several times and the guy was never there. I eventually found him in the woods just east of Fangbreaker Keep. Once I knew that's where he was, I could find him anytime I wanted. Maybe this is something they changed.

2. On the killing of 500 gnolls. The easiest thing to do is get to level 17 in BB or something, this will get you about halfway through the 500. Then go to the Darkpaw Pups which are located right next to the NQ gate. At level 17, I could 2 shot these with my cleric. Kill the 7 or so ones there. Then run north under the aqueduct and kill a group of the tougher, but still gray, guys on Fippy's hill. By the time you kill that group, the pups should have repoped. Run back to the pups and kill them. Once you get the flow of this down, you can fly through mass amounts of gnoll kills.

3. The ship from Commonlands to Nektulos is no longer there. I don't know what the story is with that, I had to run through Nektulos. This is actually not *too* bad, until you get towards the canyon-tunnel area right before the beach. There are a bunch of owlbears and bats that will kick your *** before you can get away. I died about 3 times trying to get through this part. Finally, I got lucky and it respawned me on the beach side. There's probably a better way to do this. I guess if I had the money at the time I would have paid some level 30 to escort me through.

4. If you hit the 17 level cap, the XP isn't wasted, it will be waiting for you when you hit 18. I got up to like 180% of level 17 before I completed the quest, so I spent like 30 minutes as level 18.

5. You will lose anything in your shared slots from freeport, but your normal bank stuff will be there when you get to Qeynos. If you really want that shared slot stuff back, create another character in Freeport and he can get it.

6. They really mean it when they say to close out your apartment before you talk to Kenjedeau. I now can't get a new apartment in Qeynos because I didn't do this step. I have the benefit of an 18 enc in qeynos, so I just made my DE a trustee of that guy, and I'm able to sell through my other characters bulletin board, etc.

A couple things to add:

1. Yes, Felzik can be hard to find. I usually find him wandering just to the southeast of the village. He will occasioanlly wander into the forest, as well as into the southern area of the town.

2. An even better area to kill gnolls is right outside N Qeynos gate. XP sucks as most of them are grey, but it goes quicker.

3. That sounds like a bug. Once you get to the canyon-tuneel, you should be home free. The owlbears and the like are along the road there, however, so keep your finger ready to hit your sprint key at all times.

4. Actually, there is a limit on how much xp you can store. I think anything beyond 220% IS lost.

5. Dead on.

6. Yeah, forgetting to colse out your room can be a pain. I made that mistake too and had to sneak into Freeport to release the apartment. Not to hard as long as you know where the guards are ahead of time. I used an alt to scout out the area, then snuck in from the CL dock, avioded the guards, and released my room. I then used Call of Qeynos to go back home. (I did this last part after I had earned Qeynos Citizenship.

Note, this quest is LOOOOONG, but gives a great fealing of satisfaction when you finish it.

I had to sneak back into freeport and get rid of my house. you can visit any appartment in the town but you have to avoid the guards or they kick you out.

One more thing the adept spells that drop commonly on the freeport side are not hte same ones that drop commonly in Qeynos. Bring some with you and you can mark them quite a bit...
