Potions, Scholar stuffs.Follow

I've made a few of the "potion" like items with my scholar and im wondering what experiance you guys have had with them.

Last night I made 3 rare ones. Blessing of Tranquil(I beleive) was the first one I made. I activated it and it gave me +6 wis and +6 int. I used it a couple of times to see if the effect changes at all(and I had to do it a couple of times to make sure I got all the numbers). So im like cool, I just got +6 wis and Int, im awsome. Then I go to make another one, Vurak's Blessing or something of the sort. I make it(This time unclouded) and I go equip it. I look at my inventory and my first one was *gone*. I looked at all my bags everything, couldnt find it anywhere. Now I used it maybe 4 or 5 times and nothing seems to of changed about it but now it was gone.

So what im trying to figure out is, are these potions we make limited use items? Cause they dont have any numbers on them, and the one I made was using a rare item so im assuming it would generate some kind of valuable item(not a 5 click +6Wis/Int buff)

So I remade the item again(This time unclouded) and will be using it on my next few hunts(Want to atleast get SOME use of the damned thing if it is infact limited use)

The reason this is odd is two fold, one because the item does not have any kind of noticable counter(Charge # or number at the bottom corner notating how many of an item you have) and also because I think I would of noticed it disapear if it had infact gone away from one of my uses but It seemed to of simply disapeared from some other facture.

So what experiance have any of you had with these player made potions?

Speaking from total ignorance here, just speculating. I'm wondering if it's kind of like eating and drinking, once you activate it, it keeps ticking over until it's gone, unless you stop it.

Each time I activated it, it gave me a 3 minute buff. I have also gotten my hands on a lapis lazuli and made some rare poisons and gave it to my predator. I activated about 6 times(The poison viles gave me 12 houre buffs), still have all the poison viles - so this seems to support the infi-click theory, but im still trying to explain why my one potion disapeared.

Potions DO have a limited number of uses. The number seems to very between 1 and 5 depending on the type of potion. Most of them seem to have 5 charges, but there is no way to see this on the item.

Duration of potions very greatly depending on their effects. Some are instants, most last 30 secounds or 3 minutes, while poisons last 12 hours.

Note it appears that you can have multiple poison effects going, but only the most recent one will actualy proc on a target. Testing this further. I had 7 active at once and only noticed the effets of the most recent, and at a normal level.

eq2alchemist.com has a decent list of potions/abilities. I think everyone is just waiting on the next Big Patch and praying the abilities will be listed afterwards on each potion.

I am a scholar but I have been messing with the alchemist stuff a bit. All I can say is this, The uses are limited, the number of uses are dependent on Quality of the end product ( The 4 rows you see when combining) And this also effects, in some cases, the duration of the effects. Please understand that each potion type has differnces but they all work along the same method.

Oh, and the vial probely disapeared after the buff ended. Thats what happened with me I made a couple potions just for the sake of testing the ever click thing and I used one of them for the last time and the vial was there till the effect was gone.

Hope this helps
