Alright, I know the crafting horse has been bludgeoned to death several times. But I was looking at crafting in general and thought of a few things I would like to see that would make it a little more enjoyable...at least to me. Say I make a pristine carbonite Battle Axe, it's exactly the same as the pristine carbonite battle axe the guy next to me just made, it looks the same, has the same attributes and what not, after it's been sold and maybe even resold, there's no way of tracing it back to who made it. I would like to see some sort of system in place where maybe you could add additional components to weapons to change there state, or add in somekind of magical runes for a buff or special ability. It would also then be cool if my name was actually on it so after it's been handed down or traded or sold 3-4-50 times if someone decides they liked it and wanted something else, or wanted a second for a friend or 2nd character they could find me to make them if not the same thing, something similar.

I know there are lots of bugs and issues with crafting right now, so I don't expect to see anything like this anytime in the near future, but maybe with future expansions it would be nice to see some sort of uniqueness(is this even a word?) added to craftable items.

actually, i believe crafted items have a "made by" tag, which can be seen when you examine them.

i recall being pleasantly surprised when i examined a poison i crafted and saw my name in the examine window.

I agree. It would be great if one could change or specify certain attributes applied to their crafted item, within reason of course, to make it more personalized.

As for the "made by" tag, runyariel is correct. It does have a note saying who made it. However, from what I've seen, you cannot see who made an item when you inspect someone and then examine the item they are wearing. I suppose you can always ask the person if said item was made by someone and if so, from whom.

I'm a dumbass, thats eaxactly where I was lkooking, now that I think abotu it when I craft something I do remember seeing my anme on there, it's when I was looking at ther people to see where they got there equipment that I wasn't seeing it. right now on lavastorm it's not that big of an issue because there's only a few people at each level right now that can make the higherend stuff...WOOOHOO I'm #15 on the weaponsmiths list. Hopefully I'll soon be in the top 10

it's possible that the tag shows up when an item is linked, though. will see if that works this evening.

and yar, it'd be fun to be able to add your own stats :). from a development perspective, considering some of the features they added to eq1 recently, it'd also be theoretically possible, though a bit tense to code.
