I just got EQ2, rushed to open the box and install, only to find out that my system (graphics card and processor) are not up to the job.

I am currently using a GEForce MX400. Any suggestions as to an affordable upgrade? I am not computer savvy, so keep suggestions as techno-talk free as possible.

Thanks in advance.

I am having good luck with my ATI 9800 Pro 128. They go for ~$200 anymore and fit nicely into the "bang for the buck" category.

The MX series is not compatible with EQ2. Time to upgrade, I'm using a http://www.compusa.com/products/product_info.asp?product_code=316641&pfp=BROWSE

It seems to get the job done. (got the link from compusa even though I dislike this place).

What is your budget for the upgrade?
Also, you mentioned that your processor was also out of spec. Depending on your motherboard, it may or may not support the new processor that you are planning to buy. So its something that needs to be considered with the budget.

Thanks everyone for your help. I went the easy way and convinced my wife to finally upgrade our whole computer. I got a Dell 8400 with all the fixins (1G ram, Pent4 processor, GeForce6800 GTO card, 160GB HD)Hopefully this will do the trick.
If not, someone please let me know, so I can cancel the order. I hate being techno challenged.
