How important is the quality of spells/abilities?Follow

When I am crafting spells and concocting essenses, I always strive for the highest quality item, but it is difficult at times with limited time/money/resources. I was just curious if the level of quality affected the ability itself? Is a "crude" essense of kick worse in some way to a "pristine" essense of kick?

Thanks,

Right now it only effects how much tradeskill XP you get.

But I read on that big patch that when you get a pristine App it is going to be App 4 instead of App 3. Not sure if that will go for Adepts or not..

That's a really good question.

I think I remember reading somewhere that Pristine versions of player-made scrolls would yield App4 spells and that this feature would be implemented in a future patch, maybe the big one headed this way in early January.

As it is right now, I can't tell the difference at all. I've made a Pristine version of a low level skill for my Bard and it seems not to be any more powerful, relatively speaking, than an equally low level spell for my Necromancer that was only Shaped quality.

Right now, I wouldn't bother trying to make Pristines >unless< it isn't all that much extra effort for you to not only make the finished product but also the interim ingrediants.

You get more XP when you craft pristine vs crude, shaped, normal..
