Im pretty new to EQII.. But ive got to lvl1

And now im thinking, what now ? The quest to get your next skill load, mage , warrior etc... That is quality, you know what your doing and feel as if your going places. After this i have no where to go or do, i mean i can walk around soloing little mosnters and doing quests for some coin and items, but i feel as if theres no point apart from lvling up very slowly...

This is why i left SWG because it was all XP and so your good enough to solo rancors etc.. I thought this game was different or am i missing something?

I see screenies of big groups killing super big dragons, where are they!

I don't think you're going to find any dragons at level one.

If doing quests and killing for exp. isn't fun for you, then maybe MMORPG's are not your kind of game. Especially if you're questioning the game at level 1. Not flaming, just sayin'.

There are lots of directions to go in E2, but some are made to be "easier". For example, by design, some of us solo mostly, due to short playing times, time of day played, etc. We love groups, but end up soloing alot. And soloing is most definitely a longer road, mob killing wise anyway.

Tradeskilling is another route of course, as are killing, discovery and errand quests.

I have found that no matter which direction I go, by design or by ignorance, time goes by, and more facets of the game appear. It really comes down to personal preference.

quests... lots of em :).

there are quests everywhere, and they'll have you run errands or kill things, which gives you a direction in which to go.

hallmark quests are meant to be a storyline of sorts, so if you see one of those pop up, then follow it. also, if you received a book as a part of your citizenship quest, examine it to received an exploration quest worth some xp and coin, and you'll get to see some landmarks.

more detail and i might be able to give a better answer.

are you in qeynos or freeport? have you just stayed in the newbie zones? catacombs? commonlands/antonica?

Indeed, quests are the way to go. As a level ll "newbie" (I doubt you are a n00b) you're still easy mob fodder out in the wilderness, but quests within your chosen mega-city (Qeynos, Freeport) should mostly be easy to do. Tedious, but still can be done. The best I've encountered so far? Qeynos aligned, I had quick access to a quest given by Dancer. Very short story but the character does speak of her past a bit and leaves me intrigued for more (hopefully, there's more). There's also an access quest but the courier I need to kill, I can't do solo and I get assaulted by her everytime I travel to a certain area. Ended up deleting the quest until I level again.

But this may not be the direction you're looking for. I also craft, that's enough direction for me besides questing and learning more about Norrath and what's going on with people since the Shattering. But even so, I also roleplay, so the interaction with fellow roleplayers also provide something to bite into.

It may be SOE's world, but it's YOUR character and his/her life. You are your own best source of direction and meaning.
