After Installing EQ2 and updating, after the epilepsy warning and all the logos I get this big error that causes the game to shut down, and sets all my computer resolution and color settings to the lowest. The Error box is:
DirectX Error
D3DERR_DRIVERINTERNALERROR
Does anyone know how to fix this? Some advice from people was to reinstall DirectX but they still said it was a no go. How would I go about reinstalling DirectX anyways?

Try updating/rolling back the drivers on your video card (what kind of video card do you have? it might suck...) and to get new directx, go to directx.com. if that doesn't work...i think your computer might need a mild dose of shotgun.
install the latest directx and update your graphics drivers.
in order of extremety...
1. get latest version of direct X - save it to disk - install it from there.
2. update latest video card drivers - also save to disk for easy re-use later if nessasary.
3. drfrag and disk clean up - my personal favorites as they are both time consuming ... also redo 1 & 2 after...
4 be sure to check for hardware conflicts in device manager, is this problem occurring with other games?
5. shotgun... mosburg 500, with short barrel best bet - be sure to use steel shot 00 buck (not slugs) and no witnesses ...
