I might be getting this game in a couple days, and the problem is I have no clue what class I want to pick to go, not even which archtype T_T.

I'm looking to make a character that can solo and group efficently.

The classes that have looked interesting to me thus far:
Stealth: Ranger
Fighter: No clue here T_T
Mage: Wizard and Conjourer or Necromancer
Priest: Never played a healing class in any game other then Final fantasy 11 (which is a poor comparison since there is only 1 in it, and many in this), however druid and cleric look interesting!

Any suggestions? Thanks in advanced =D

Defilers forever!!!!

that aside.. melee class's are funner(not a word but bear with me) then usual.

I've had more fun with my low lvl warrior in this game.. then ever had in EQ1 or my tons of melee class's in FFXI. About any class can solo in this game.. but ones that can solo best 30 + are any with some offesne.

Pure priest like clerics seem have the most trouble. ALot seem think shaman and mages with pets solo best (necro/conjur? i forget other one)

But for most part ALL jobs can solo in this game so far.. some do little better, but they all can.

i have a summoner, well necro now that solos extremely well. It's hard for me to get group with him though. I am very usefull in a group but people don't seem to know that.

I also have a shaman who can solo ok but groups really easily and is much more useful in a group than the necro.

My advise would be to not worry to much about what your first character is. Try one and play it a little bit and then you might see another class that you wanna be and make a new toon.

I've played 5 characters. The good news is, every time you start over, you reach the low teens faster. :) Try classes until you find what you like.

For me in starts with; fighter or caster. Now that we have branching, I also have more room for planning and changing if I want. Because the choices come so soon, if you don't like classes or types you can exit out early. Heed the overall advice this question usually brings; play what you think you would like. If your like me and don't get into minutae but jump in with a cursory or short study, it suffers us not to pick and later chhose differently.
