I mean.. is the bonus that big, as in it should deter your racial choice, or is it just a small bonus?
I want be a provisoner.. make food and drink. But seems only race i noticed with a bonus to this is trolls.. (mmm troll food froglik al la mode hehe)

Halflings also get a provisioner bonus.
I was also worried about my class choice, excepcially since I changed my mind and became a tailor after I started my erudite. Wasting my class choices.
Turns out the racial bonus is a buff that last 3 min. It can be cast every 20 min. It gives you +5 to that skill. That means you get a VERY slight chance to get better ticks for 3 min out of every 20. That is the equivilent of +1 level of your class, in other words you would have the skill of a 23 provisiner even though you are only level 22.
In my opinion... Not worth basing your class choice around.
Also keep in mind that you have 15ish racial abilities. Of which you will get to only chose 5 or so of them by level 50. Chosing the tradeskill buff means using 1 of those 5 and having less combat orentated (if that is impoortant to you)
As an erudite I chose a mana regen/int buff. It also is 3 min duration and 20 min recast. It is also out of combat only. I was underwelmed. When they reset it I am going to chose the fairy light source next time.

most racial traits seem rather worthless.. in eq2 so far. not the good old stuff like troll regeneration.
Another one you might want to look into on a euridite is the glyph symbol to aborsb magic dmg.
So sad trade skill trait isn't worth much either...

According to the prima guide and other players' acounts of the racial traits for crafting (taken from sony's forum), they are permanent boosts, not just every thirty minutes.
Hate to say it but the Prima Guide is a total waste of funds. Their information is usualy incorrect, or at the least way out of date.
If you want their guides for the maps, go for it otherwise your better off pulling your info from the net. :)
