Hunt mobs, sell the stuff that drops.

See any node's farm them, then use the items farmed to increase your skills while selling and non pristine sub material back to the vendor to cover costs.

Sell any unused material such as metal or wood for 5cp under the lowest for the last hour before you log, so that the next day you have money to start the day with.

Rince, repeat, it's not rocket science folks.

I've found farming "?" while farming nodes is a good source of income. Also as mentioned, farming mobs and selling as much of the junk drops as you can to vendors, and selling chest drops to players.

Join your city wholesaler/crafter channel as well and offer your services as a havester. People will pay you for your time.

Also offer your services as a sub-componant crafter. People would rather purchase ready made sub-componants than spend the time making them on their own (if the price is reasonable).

Take a look at what sells. Right, ? items for quests are good sellers. People will pay well for that last stupid spotted butterfly, etc.

Find an area of green ^^ mobs. Turn off exp gain. Yeah, it hurts, but turn it off. Farm them until you can't stand it any more. Go sell the adepts and crafting books you gain. Most other stuff u get just sell to merchants.

Always go out w/ a wholesaler task. Fill it before coming back.

If you are hunting gnolls collect the paws, eyes, ears etc. (lore items) - same for orcs and any beast that has a "mastery quest" - you can sell these items to players wanting to finish these quests.

Basically while filling up your packs w/ stuff to sell to players, you should be occasionaly bopping to the merch to sell the other drops - the saliva, the so-so pieces of armor, the adepts for which there is no market becuase they drop so much (spirit of badger), etc. = to keep room in inv for the stuff to take back. When it's time to quit, set up in your room at your market board and make money while u sleep.

Warning, the market for harvested items is soon to vanish - well, soon to take a major hit. You used to be able to finish the wholesaler quest by buying these from the broker. This is marked for nerfage and may already be gone as of this morning. That is why you could sell iron clusters for 60 c - the player buying paid 72 c and made 8 c profit on the quest reward. But that's soon to be nerfed - if not already.

In fact, if this was pumping as much $ into the economy as I think it was, prices over all may come down. Hold off buying that pricey adept if you want - and see if prices don't come down over the next few weeks. When people can't count on easily clicking a few gold here and there... they won't spend so freely. Copper clusters priced ridiculously at 9g will come down to a more sensible 3g, for example.

thanks for the ideas. i did a wholesaler quest and i didnt get any reward though...

I did one last night and got no reward as well.. thought it was just me and i somehow screwed it up.. 0_o...

going to try again, perhaps it's /bug time...

anywho.. I've not done any tradeskilling or such and I currently have about 80 or so silver, that's all from doing quest and selling the items I didn't care to keep and from selling drop items off things I kill out in the field, so the tradeskill quest not dinging didn't change much.. but it would have been nice.

What difference does this make? Are the drops better if your not gaining experience? I've only been playing for about a week so the nuances of the game have not yet kicked in.

the best way i found to make cash was simply to farm nodes over and over and over again and sell the items you gained. get to level 20 (and max your harvesting skills) and you can farm in tier 3 zones where you can get between 1 and 3s per item quite easily (selling to players usng your message board/trader mode)

once you have a few gold start working on trade skills, sell all the stuff you make up to level 10 to the vendors, when you get into tier 2 skill up using the base items (the level 10 items) and sell these in large quantities - the xp is slow but the money you make is worth it. try to find which base items other tradeskillers need the most as these will sell for the highest prices. trade skills are the biggest source of income ive found right now, and the higher your tarde skill level the more money you can make.

it all involves patience and effort and time, but in the end i think its worth it, especially when you can make the end items at higher level.

my younger character just kills ghost and fallen orcs on coast by freeport, flambeges and iron chain boots and killing the carrion hounds gets 3 silver torques, so after a little bit of xp and a inventory full of swords, boots and torques you have about 50 silver at least, then just go back and when you get near the grey area, turn off xp a bit if you need the coin.

The reason some people may see a desire to turn off exp gain is for farming generally and inparticulary in the teens levels for farming green^^ group mobs which are said to have better drop rates of higher quality items that will gain you more silver, Though the practicality of farming group mobs of any sort seems to die off starting about at level 20, but there are a few diffrent areas I can see people turning off exp to farm though not very many.

You're not kidding! I just recently found out how addictive collection quests can be, and therefore how much money is to be made in farming the ?'s. Bad part is that I am now a collection quest addict as well and will probablly pump a good ammount of the gold I make selling right back into my missing collection pieces. I'm not giving away the top super secret location of my farming spot though =p
