Templar/Cleric Reactive Heals Broken?Follow

We were playing last night making some nice XP and my gf's Templar hit 26 and received supplicants prayer. Her old spell, Bestowal of Vitae (level 12), healed about 102 hp per hit, and the new about 77 if I recall correctly (70-77). Now her new spell is Apr1, and the old Apr3, Im sure this factors in somewhat. Also the new one randomly gives increased AC, but not really enough to make up the difference in healing power. I feel its broken and I've heard some other Templars complain to the same effect. Anyone have some numbers as to if it ever improves or surpasses the origional spell? It seems there are a lot of spells like this.. Guardians Wound (apr3) vs Ruin (apr3). Wound does more damage especially over time, but Ruin lowers enemy offense for a bit... Am I missing something here?
