When I first logged on after the servers came back up, I think I might've agreed with you. My first 15 harvesting attempts resulted in 11 times where I gathered no resource at all. Since harvesting skill levels- supposedly- have no bearing on whether your attempt is successful or not, I thought something had been done to recode the success chances in the rollback.

However, the next 15 or so attempts resulted in a roughly 70% success rate which is, for me, pretty typical. So I;m guessing that you, like I, ran into a run of bad luck and nothing more.

It just seemed there were a lot of less chest drops in Commonlands and Fallen Gate when I have been partying.

Fallen Gate (also known as Fallen Experience Bar due to the trains that are a constant feature of that damn place) is a high teens- high twenties dungeon located at the northern end of Yapping Mze which is along the extreme west-northwest wall of the Commonlands. Easiest way to get there is to take the griffin from the Freeport Station to the Nektulos Station and head west-southwest.

As for what the probability of a successful harvest is based off of- if anything- you got me there. I've managed to max my skills (except fishing) for my level (15) so it's time to levelup a bit and see if the percentages keep increasing. I haven't tried harvesting in the newb areas lately (probably not since my skills were in the 50s) so I'll have to check that out. I need some of those resources anyway.
