Hi there, EG2 here, wifie

I was just about to post in the Sony EQ2 forum, when It went down. I was going to post under somethig about feeling/being a sucker! Well, I'm gonna post anyway, here:

I’m not an ignorant child. I work for my money. I am a CUSTOMER with 4 accounts at Sony. I’m sure they don’t give a hoot, but I will cancel if they don’t woo me after this. And Woo me well. I’m updating my Anarchy Online account right now as I write, in preparation to cut bait and run.

Yes, I feel like a total sucker. I used to think it was Varient that caused all the trouble. After all, when they were taken over, things got much fun-er on EQ1, and I eventually came back to play EQ1 almost a year ago because of it. But THIS

This feels like old EQ and I don’t need it. I’ll just pretend someone pinched 80 bucks out of my pocket, a sad state of affairs, but not one that will keep me a victim. I’m gonna go.

Sounds like you were just looking for an excuse to leave the game, anyway.

Yes, it blows that yesterday the game was FUBAR for the whole day. But all in all, I think this has got to be one of the smoothest releases of a MMORPG. Yesterday was the first real problem that I can think of.

You still could have played, btw. There is a Test server. That's where I played.

every MMORPG or MMO game has their downtime like this. Didn't you see what happened to WoW on their release week? It's not like EQ2 is the only game that has downtime like this. When WoW first launched you even had to wait in line for an hour to play the game! But if you really like the game, you'll wait, just like the other people. If you don't like the game and think it's not worth the time to wait, then you quit. Simple as that. The reason you left the game is not because of the downtime or anything else, but you don't like the game. I've read your post over the WoW forum and seems that's exactly the case. I'd bet even if SOE compensate for the downtime you wouldn't really appreciate it, so if you think you're getting screwed here it's your freedom to move on to another game.

Now ask yourself, if SOE brings back the servers exactly 24 hours after the downtime, and they compensate by giving you a free day play, would you satisfy?

must agree.. I think Gnomes does just want to find a reason to goto WoW.

*shrug*

I work in IT for a living so I understand the hell-on-earth the Sony staff are currently experiencing and in a lot of ways I sympathize and can only imagine the sheer scale of Sony's agonies since the company I work at is no where near as large....

If I were not enjoying EQ2 I would switch.. there's lots of options now and honestly those of us enjoying the game will not miss those who don't and feel the need to voice that dislike in every thread they can get their text into..

but I AM enjoying EQ2, so I'll wait... yes downtime sux.. but it happens, I have a metric ton of games for my consoles I can plink away on while the servers are offline.

If you're just wanting to go.. then do it, and go to whatever you feel will make you happy.

honestly you're entitled to voice an opinion.. but after voicing it number of times in the double-digits.. don't you think you're simply wasting valuable time you could be spending in the MMO you really are trying to find a reason to goto, instead of griping about one you obviously don't like.

If he's so addicted to EQ2 that he'll run from forum to forum yelling that he'll leave then i doupt he will. Otherwise he's been looking for an excuse anyway..

This has actually been fairly descent for a release.. did you see what happened with WoW..? Did you see what happened to Horizons? (that was down its entire launch weekend)
