Has SoE sacraficed quality for early release to combat WoWFollow

EQ2 has shown promise but I believe it was released early to fight off expected matket lose to World of Warcraf
The continued patches each night kind of indicates that this game should not have been released to the public when it was and SoE standards are well below what people would accept if they were shopping for a car or a television.

17th of Decemeber all servers were brought down for a patch which caused a major failure in the game, on the Sony chat channels we are being feed lip service by people that have less information about the problem or the ETA on the servers going live again. then you or I. Offical EQ2 website has this :

All US servers and Innovation are currently down for an upate. We do not have a solid ETA available at this time, but will be updating you with progress hourly and will deliver a more firm ETA when we can. Worlds will be brought back online as they are ready. We apologize for any inconvenience this causes you and thank you for your patience while our folks here work to correct this issue.

The so called hourly progress report has not been issued nor will SoE make any statement made to the fact that your weekend is going to be wasted by waiting for EQ2 to go live again.

I don't think there is any organisation that Sony has to answer to. In New Zealand we have the Commerce Commision that protects the consumer from poor quality products or false advertising, I will lay a complaint with the New Zealand Commerce Commision that SoE has sold a product that they knew was well below market Standard on its release date.

But there is the real question, what is an acceptable market standard and should we accept what we are being given by SoE at the present time. I believe we were defrauded into thinking EQ2 is a fully operational and top quality game, that will be live 24 hrs a day with minor bugs that would be easierly fixed with a weekly patch, Not that nightly patching we are reciving

I would suggest to people that they give up on trying to play EQ2 till well after the new year as your gaming quality time to the money your paying for a subscrition is being wasted. Use this time guys to spend with your families as that time will not be wasted.

Be safe , be caring, be happy
