Im guessing i found around 300 or more them since i started playing.
Some cracked bones seem rare as the enchanted ones for some reason. The prices are going down, so ill just wait until that to buy them =).

I found 22 the other day in a coupe of hours, my girlfriend, who plays too but wasn't on at the moment kept cursing at me every time I yelled "Another one!" into the next room...lol I came up with 15 butterflies and 4 shards and 2 bones. pretty lucky i think.
tier 1 and 2 are easy to get, they are rarer in ant+ possibly because those zones are much larger?

Seems like sometimes, there will be a ton of them in one zone (regardless of the number of other people present in that zone) and then at others, few or none. I guess it's all about chance.
I've found maybe 7 or 8 in an hour once in Oakmyst. For some reason, I have really good luck there.

so many I've had to focus.. or my quest journal would be full of nothing but collection quest.. which take a LONG time to do.
