"I feel a beserker or other heavy hitter would be better main.. simply helps keep argo. I agree with guardians should be back up tank.. for all that normaly aplies of saving mages, taking add ons.. and their abilities can help main take less dmg even if nothing goes wrong."

No.. no .. no.

Guardians get more combat arts for protecting the group then berserkers ever can. Making Guardians better tanks. And as for the damage, guardians can equip 2handers as well. Sure we don't get fury or anything like that. But for defense (which is what a tank is suppose to have) guardians take the cake.

Well i just got this game, and am cerintly waiting for my new video card to get shipped to me. So when i start playing i plan to be a fighter then a warrior and evenually a berzerker. I am woundering if its what i really want. Im looking for a vary heavily damnige job that cant hold some ground but can tare the face of the enemy off with massive amounts of physical damnige. And haveing a subclass that is able to cast healing. ( Would Berserker/Shaman or warden be good? if not please say what would be )

Difference in abilities

Guardian:

20 Sentinel
Allows a guardian to sometimes absorb all the damage a nearby ally would otherwise take.

28 Iron Will
Temporarily increases your stamina.

29 Desperate Flurry
Increase attack rate while draining power.

31 Entrench
Slows the target's attack rate and movement rate. Increases the target's armor class.

33 Safeguard
Allows a guardian to sometimes absorb all the damage a nearby ally would otherwise take.

35 Crush
A high damage extra attack.

37 Call of Protection
Launches a high damage extra attack.

40 Unerring Strike
Launches an extra attack that ignores the target's armor

41 Iron Conviction
Temporarily increases your stamina.

43 Taunting Assault
An area of effect attack, it generates extra hate with all enemies it strikes.

44 Desperate Rush
Increase attack rate while draining power.

45 Anchor
Slows the target's attack rate and movement rate. Increases the target's armor class.

47 Sentry
Allows a guardian to sometimes absorb all the damage a nearby ally would otherwise take.

49 Guardian Sphere
Allows the guardian to sometimes absorb damage dealt to the group.

50 Blast
A high damage extra attack.

Berserker:

20 Focus Rage
A berserker focuses rage, sometimes causing the berserker to go berserk when taking damage.

28 Berserker Barrage
Attacks creatures to the front and to the sides of the berserker. Can only be activated while berserk.

29 Weapon Shield
Increases parry skill.

31 Stunning Cry
A shout that releases the berserker's anger in a stunning cry. It stuns enemies within the area of effect. It can only be activated while berserk.

33 Rage
A bersker focuses rage, sometimes causing the berserker to go berserk when taking damage.

35 Reckless Counter
Grants a chance to counter attack each time you take damage.

37 War Chant
A raucous chant that increases the party's strength.

40 Controlled Rage
Decreases attack rate and increases defense. Can only be used while berserk.

40 Weapon Guard
Increases parry skill.

41 Berserker Assault
Attacks creatures to the front and side of the berserker. Can only be activated while berserk.

43 Frenzy
Attacks a single target 3 times. Can only be activated while berserk.

45 Stunning Roar

Try no subclass, this is not FFXI. If you want a shaman to heal you, group with one.

Oh, and for the record any healing class can usually get the job done in most cases, but as a warrior you won't be any of them.

Thank you for helping me but i do have a question. if i want to sub a warden or w/e for when i am soloing can i change it or once i pick it do i have to keep it? cause soloing would be better to sub a healing job for a melee type char rite? but wen i go into a group id simply take off that subclass. ( please make another statement about this question )

you dont get a "sub job" like in ffxi, when you get your subclass you become that class

like fighter becaomes warrior then guardian, your not a fighter/warrior/guardian, just a guardian

and you cant change your class

Ok thank you, i think i undertsand now. a subclass, achetypes or a class are just what you would call a sertin type of class, so a reg class would be fighter mage priest and scout, a subclass would be a Fighter: - warrior, Brawler, or Crusader-, Mage: -Sorcerer, Enchanter, or Summoner- Priest: - Cleric, Druid or Shaman- Scout: -Scout, Bard, Predator. And for each of the subclasses therea a achrotype you can be as long as you were the subclass for that certin achrotype? ~please tell me if i got it rite or wrong -thank you- ~
