Guardian Quest Weapon?Follow

#1 Dec 17 2004 at 9:16 PM Rating: Decent
I finished the Guardian Sub-Class Quest the other day, I was lvl 18 and made it throught the quest. My question is, in most of the information that I have read on the Guardian class is that we take the damage for the group. I have also read that a Guardian class should carry a shield for the extra AC. Then why do you get a 2 handed weapon for the Sub-Class completion?
Just curious. :)

I also completed my Guardian quest this week, and had a long discussion on 1H vs 2H weapons with my guild. Basically, it's a personal decision. Shield lets you stay in the fight longer cause of additional ac, 2H weapon shortens the fight cause your doing more damage per hit.

Up until quest I was also using a shield, decided to try the new toy and am finding I like it better, because of the additional damage. It does a LOT more damage.

I know this doesn't exactly answer your question but hope it helps.

I don't think it was a question really..more of a curosity. I love the weapon and it does good damage..I used duel wield until I got my Guardian weapon. Only problem I have with it is that they didn't scale it down. It's the same size for a Barb as it is for a Wood Elf which I am..and I'm finding that sometime I have to turn sideways to get out of some doorways as the head of that giant spear/axe sitcks up over my head again as I am tall. LoL

Thanks for the reply

Group of cleric, chanter, guardian, use weapon. Group of 6, use shield. Its all a matter of when and where.

WTF? They changed the reward? I did my quest a couple weeks ago and got a really nice shield. Seemed to make more sense for a guardian than a 2h.

Are you guys sure your not beserkers?

The quest reward sucks ***. The damage increase is NOT worth the 100 or so AC my shield gives. This thing is in the bank gathering dust :(

I guess I'll just let whoever has the highest HP/AC decide what weapons I use. If I'm not MT, I'll just try and do more damage. And if I need a shield.. on it goes:).

im a beserker, so i cant really speak from a guardian pov.

but in my opinion, always have a shield on you.

i currently use steel stilletos x2 and my damage rocks any 2h around my level.

if im the main tank (which i normally am *sigh*) and it looks like i need a little boost in my AC, ill throw on my battlemasters shield and all is well. i still attack insanely fast and i get AC boost. itll be even better next level when i can equip my starfall ^_^

The sheild also gives you bash, which interupts casting.

A very usefull thing for even non MT.

I will only use a 2h when one drops that is much better than my 1hs. The 20 reward is not that wep.

Oh how i miss my mitheral 2 hander from eq1

kneebreak does the same thing and has higher dmg output that shieldbash.

Everything I'm being told is that Zerkers are DPS and we get a 2handed Axe wtf ? I sold it instead of using it.
