Alright, seeing as how most of you have left already, I'll call it a night as well. Thanks for the laughs and hopefully we'll be in game soon! Good night all!

Okay i do like eq1 better cause you get to gripe on the chat channel and you could time how long it would take to get booted from chat for spam or bad words!!!!!

now you know you been playing eq2 too long when you ring a bell and try travel to the store

Well this sucks, I tried to get online around 2pm today and now it is 136AM and I still cant get on....I would complain about it but who in SOE is going to listen...Dont matter what is said they figure we are going to pay to play and if a 1000 of us decide to call it quites then oh well we have another 10,000 that will pay to play the game....Makes me mad when things like this happen and there is no compensation for it...Not saying anything about the game but I just got charged a day + for something I cant even play.

I just went to the chat on the load up screen and you cant even send anyhting across it...says it is moderated and you cant send messages...Must of had to many complaints about the down time and decided to cut everyone off from complaining about it.

Love EQ2, but SOE YOU SUCK>

U KNOW U PLAYED TOO MUCH EQ2 WHEN.........)

While out Christmas shopping, and immediately after hailing the cashier, you mentally hit <shift> "B" to open your wallet, and "M" to figure out where the nearest bank machine is. On your way to it, you are careful to scan the ground for any sign of a glowing "?."

What I want to know is what kind of complete mess has happened that it takes 15 hours (and counting) to revert to last save? Did someone wipe the servers? or even worse, did someone spill Mt. Dew on the back up and now they are having corporate conversations about how much money they will lose when they finally tell us all that all our characters are gone and we have to start over... with nothing... again.

Just a thought... have a nice night.

Awww man, I thought that since I got up early I could get in an hour of EQin' before work, but alas, the servers are still down.
And I slept for 8 hours!

Funnily enough, I did dream about EQ2... Man... I do play too much.

I think at work as I do food prep, I'm gunna yell 'DING!' after doing so much of it. I must be a master provisioner by now with all the sandwiches I make for people. (I work at Subway.) I even make sandwiches that reduce the effects of alcohol! (I work nights.)

Amusing.

You know you've played EQ2 to long when...

You read through an entire forum about EQ2 to pass the time...
#214 Dec 18 2004 at 2:54 AM Rating: Decent
when i checked this afternoon i had 1 active quest...... last night before i logged off i had about 30 active quests.

and servers being down all day is boring for me :)
#215 Dec 18 2004 at 2:59 AM Rating: Decent
Seriously you all know it's not just a rollback. The rollback is just to prevent any possible problems that could have occured with the chars after the initial update thismorning. Things like exesive money, exesive xp, exesive stats. lol. Why admonish that this is far to long for a rollback? Of course it is. Did you expect it to just be a rollback when they said that they were going to do a rollback?

Really why are you so worried? We'll eventually find out whats going on. Maybe not tommarow maybe not monday. /shrug We will know eventually.

We're worried cuz we're bored.

When you don't have much to do (it's my day off, I planned on doing a 15 hour EQ marathon with my friends) your brain has too much time to think.

I agree with the Trolls on this. Thinking = bad.

@_@ you can dream up all kinds of awful things. Like SOE's main server headquarters caught on fire and everything is lost for good. Or... <_o what if aliens abducted all the tapes for rollback, and....@_O omfg!! >_< o.o #_# !_! O_O NOoooOOOooooOOO!!

See what I mean?

Wow, I was logged on to WoW today and someone told me about this. Im kinda glad I havent played in a week or 2 or else Id be kicking SoEs door in and haveing a good old time putting the boot in some devs grills.

Everyone you have my sympathies.

This compansation that they are offering isnt going to calm some people down as it is not enough for people who lost rares, levels, and completed quests.

Best of wishes.

At this point, you all better be hoping you aren't going to be starting over at level 1!

As someone involved in very large scale computer systems, I can tell you, that if they aren't up now.. this is baaaaaaadd.

An earlier poster is right. One of the reasons Alla is better than that other site is that we have humor and can at least laugh at ourselves for wondering why we're doing this while we're wondering why they're doing what they're doing... if they're doing anything.

What's busting me up even more is reading the odd post in here defending the company - or chiding us for demanding at least a little information. Thank you for giving me something to really laugh at! Well, maybe some old MXC rerun is on - maybe I can watch Japanese game show contestants wrapped in burlap sacks try to hop up an enormous foam-covered hill while a band of squirrel-costume sadists roll twelve-foot diameter fiberglass acorns at them! Too much fun!

Come on, you really expect them to put out any statement with anything even resembeling a guess as to how long it might be. You know as well as I do, and as well as they do, that as soon as they do that and the time passes, there will be umpteen posts literally screaming that "they said it would only be X more hours and that has passed and its still not up <whine> <whine> <whine>". All they are going to say is that they are working on it and that is it. Relax and go with the flow. It will be up when they get it fixed and not a minute sooner.

Feel free to flame Smiley: smile

Anytime. I'm really not all to worried about it myself. Decided to download magic the gathering online, and anarchy online (which is free to download and no longer has a monthly fee) just for the heck of it. It's about time for me to go to bed, but I just can't help perusing the forums.

I did not intentionaly defend SOE I just like the look of my own words. lol.

You know, if it is a server reset.... there could be a hope in hell for the economy to work.
There is a lot more at stake in the trade skill system than just a few new item descriptions. The way the system was "exploited" unintentionaly or thru marathon efforts of cash/goods manipulation had the result of skewing the whole society out of whack. Crafting and the values associated with it were to maintain a steady growth of economy over whatever length of time the devs felt this first chapter would take to mature. Having people with hundreds of gold to spare was probably messing things on the markets, wouldn't you say?

I'd go on but I have to look down and peck at the dang keyboard, and my antique Dragon speech recognition software wants me to speak swahili with a greek accent (i can't do it).

It wouldn't help us much except for wry amusement but I have to wonder if they're in a dispute with their maintenance company?

Just the thought of someone telling THEM that everything was "working as intended" and "We're not allowed to change that for you" gives me some solace.
