ok I can make all the basic minor heal, static pulse, lightning bolt etc, but i tried to do the fighter 1's for a friend and they all come up as app2 can anyone please help me. I'm a lvl 11 or 12 scholar and not sure if i'm just missing the recipe from my books or need a higher skill or if it's bugged. any help would be apprieciated thanks.

I ran into this myself and was very confused. I made a new fighter and had made Tier 1 Essences for him. The item itself says it is App 2, butr when used it is App 3. All very confusing.

There are two threads on this.

1) Its a bug. They were testing this on the test server and it was moved over and should be removed with the next major patch.

2) Its by design. You will now need to use higher quality items and make high quality results to make the full version of an ability (app3).

In either case, its set for at least the next couple days.

As of the most recent patch (12/17) apprentice 3 skill items will vary in type depending on the quality produced. Therefore, when making app 3s if you produce a pristine item it will now be an app 4! I suppose on the other side of that if you make a crude it will be an app 2 ;P
