I really wish that the search function worked in the forums because I'm quite sure this has been addressed before....
When I went to the bank in my starting city, the banker asked me the question artisan or adventurer? Is there a correct answer? Does something change for your character depending upon which you choose?
I chose artisan because I don't feel much like an adventurer yet. Anyone dealt with this before and discover an effect?

It makes no differece. It's just a fluff question.
I have read on a few places something like this:
"If you choose artisan you will lvl as a artisan faster and if you choose adventurer you will lvl faster as a adventurer"
However, this is a unconfirmed roumor and if anyone knows 100% this is not true pls let me and everyone else know about it.

I would very highly doubt they'd design such a hardcore character altering decision like that based on such an obscure interaction. For example, when you choose your archtype on newb island you get a rundown of the choices and and almost Microsoftian "are you sure you want to click this?" dialogue. We see this also when we choose our crafting and profession tree's at level 10, well after our initial banker encounter. I'm guessing they'll remove this as it may be a left over from some early iteration in overall game design. I could be wrong, however as logic has been known to fall through the cracks in these games.
from what i've heard, it's flavour text that then changes the phrasing of some of the other bits of the conversation. i've never heard of anyone leveling more quickly, or gameplay changing in any way as a result.
