ok so i have a lvl 15 pred now and i keep hereing about poisons...how do i get these? My Dps sucks and routiely die on white and so because i simply cannot do enough damage fast enough. I need more DPS, even using all the Heroics i can... please any info would rock
Your posion skill should be around 50 to 75 at this time. I bought 50 posions (acidic goo) from the alchemist in Netteville for 24 copper (I think was 24 copper)
Posion last 12 hours so buy only 2 or 3 at a time until you can upgrade to stronger. The merchants in Antonica sell it too.

ok yes, i now know where to buy the poisons...but how do i use them? is it a skill i click or what?

You have to equip the poison into one of your 2 'activatable' slots, then right click and 'use' - this applies the poison.
bear in mind a couple of things though:
1) you're stuck with skill_50 poisons until you hit level 20 (when you can start using skill_100, so as you approach 18/19 etc you'll find they won't process that much as they're a lot weaker compared to the mobs you'll be fighting.
2) Poisons will last for 12 hours, or 100 procs (activations on mob) - but also remember they'll 'wear out' if you die, so you'll need to reapply them.

Great! thanks for all the info guys...but one last question...How much DPS do poisons actually add? on average
I'd say that poison procs for me about 1/4 of my hits, doing between 15-55 damage, so 35 being the average. Duel wielding I probably hit about twice a second. So I think your looking at about an extra 17dps or so. That is probably off, and might be closer to 10 extrs DPS, but either way thats a significant boost.
Remember, faster is better, those spears might hit higher, but they sure don't help your DPS over the course of a fight.

Hi all just my 2 cents here i am a 15 rouge and i dw rapiers 2-7 dps with a 1.2 delay, poison seems to proc bout every 4-7 hit the primary weapon proc is typicly 22 dammage and ther sec i have seen vary from 4-12 damage. this is a 50 skill poison. hope this helps someone.

My druid scholar makes "Caustic Assault" for my rogue, w/ the Alch skill. It's easy to make but not particulary cheap (costs about one and a half silver a shot).
I think only one poison works at a time. But they do work. CA's intiial damage is not great but seems to DoT for 20 a pop for 4 more pulses. Not bad.
I can solo oranges or green^^'s and I don't even have great armor - a lot of grey IoR stuff still.
Note, if you solo as a Rogue w/out using stealth, HO and poison - you're not "being all you can be". I'm still trying to master stunning the mob and getting in that flank attack while also causing it to advance the HO. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. I have tried shutting off melee to do it - still sometimes works, sometimes doesn't. I guess the stun isn't always working. (it says the stun can be broken by a hit).
Well, a scout can rip things up by at least sneaking up and starting w/ a backstab (a positional attack), HOing and poisoning.
Consider a shield if u die too much soloing. Yer dps goes down a bit, yes, but your def vs some mobs goes way up. GL

What is your skill level to make the Caustic Assult?
I am considering going Alch to get posion skills because I have not found any player made posions for sale.

Evil gnome try hiting your stun and turning off your melee attack before it full charges. That way when the stun goes off you can move around the mob with out it turning to face you. This always works for me and I'm a bard. As long as I turn off melee before the stun goes off the mob just stands there little stars floating around his head as I hit sneak attack. After that goes off my melee auto turns back on and I procede into my HO.
MY typical Solo atack on a white-Orange con mob at lvl 17 as a Bard
Sneak to Ambush 45-66 dmg
Duel Weild Willow Wood Weapon of service 4-9 Dmg a sec
Cheapshot Melee attack off move behind mob while stunned Sneak attack 33-55dmg
Hit Sparkling Blade 40-55 dmg plus Mental resitence lowered
Start HO using Peircing Shreik easy 100+ Mental dmg
Rinse & Repeat typically this drops any mob except ^^ mobs who seem to simply have ungodly Hit points and resistance as their level increase. Altough recently I've been trying out using Singing Shot and a bow. If all 4 shots hit it is easily 100+ dmg right off the start.

Oh, my alch char - well my fury, he's a lvl 14 artisan ... but got caustic assault at art lvl - excuse me - scholar level (scholar is the path you pick at art. lvl 9 to get alch, jewel, and scribe) - was about 12.
U need to save the "loam" u get as a byproduct of making trinoids for the ink for app 3 upgrades - or buy from players via the broker. On the jewel table u make a "poison vial" - study the poi recipes on the alch table to make sure u are making the right vial u need.
Okay, u got a poison vial, u buy a Laurent Solution or some such from the merch there in the trade instance - this is about one and a half silver. And maybe u make a sycomore solution or oil somehting. U can buy sycamore dirt cheap (2c usually) off the broker from players) - think that's it - anyway on the alch table u just make the Caustic Assault.
Be sure to check for new tradeskill buffs as u level and read them carefully. The ones that up progress a lot for power are often good to get a pristine outcome. Experiment. U will want to use player-made drink while tradeskillin cuz it regens your power a LOT , even while skillin. Tier 2 drinks are whisky, um, antonican coffee I think- see if other threads can tell you.

Tried most, if not all, of the 50 skill poisons available to buy from the slum alchemist... anyone done any figuring to see if any one of them is superior? Totally unscientific survey, I thought that the Crypt Sludge was pretty nice, but it was not easy for me to remember qith only about 10 minutes each :).
