Lot of Adepts not on the market yetFollow

On my server I noticed some (what seem)essential adepts have not hit the market yet Well they can’t be too essential if there are higher level players already, or those higher level players attuned those rare drops right then and there.

For my Crusader I’ve been waiting for taunt, and shout to hit the market. I value those right now as my highest priority. Between both chars there’s a lot of gaps of missing adept upgrades.

I wonder how long it will be for these to hit the market? Or perhaps the drop rates will be tweaked to allow these to drop. Since the creation of my Crusader I have only seen 3 adepts available, and there’s plenty on them on the Market.

I’m sure this is a class range problem (maybe). Do you think it’s designed this way to have this rarely available or do you think tweaks need to be made?

Just my ramdom thinking..

I have no idea if this will work for Crusader (unlikely for Crusader I think) but its a good idea to check the black market broker. Several ability/spell upgrades only drop in certain zones. And sometimes these zones are on the other side of the word. Even many Good ones drop in Evil side zones and vice versa for instance.

Add1s are kind of a free-for-all. Since those are drops, you just kinda get what you get, and there is not a hugely successful way of getting them on the market. As far as addept IIIs, your best bet is to ask Scholars/Sages. Since the materials (coral/silver/copper) are so rare and expensive, most crafters won't make them until someone already wants it. At least that is that way it is on my server, Everfrost.

check the black market broker

Interesting!

I remember hearing something about it now that you mention it. I'm going to give this a look when I get home. Thanks for giving me a new direction. =)

I think part of the problem definitely has to do with the system by which we sell things in this game. I play often in the early morning hours, just after the daily downtime. What this means is that there is only a very small amount of products on the market for me to choose from, since that relies on them being online to sell their wares.

Very frustrating. But yes, I've definitely noticed a lack of adepts in most skills. Heck, I've noticed a lack of App III's of most skills for that matter.

I bought one Adept and found 2. After a week of checking the market I didn't even see another Adept I could use, and only one from the 3 I have was available (twice tho). That includes the Adepts priced over 1 pp (I just hope they thought it'd be the icon for silver Smiley: wink ).

The early stage of the game certainly plays a role but the broken merchant system has an impact too.
Due to the small amount of IPs available most ISPs (at least in Germany) disconnect their Flatrate users every 24 hours so they don't have a fixed IP, etc.
Being disconnected twice a day does not really help with selling stuff, and buying specific stuff is way harder.

I know what you mean, the only adepts I've found so far are inflame and righteous blow. I bought both, next fight I have a chest and got righteous blow from it, sigh.

Plenty of adept spells (broker list for it, often over 40 pages of them), but never any for Crusader. I do hope this will change soon, and I will try that black market, sounds like a very good idea!

I think the quest for the Adept spells would be more complete if there were actually specific monsters that they dropped off of. I have seen Ice Spike drop from gnolls, skeletons, and a large group of deer. I think after the people at SoE realize that they are pretty hard to get, even for high level people, they might start increasing the chances of getting a chest after a battle.

I have had Adept I Shout for my crusader since level 9 or so. I was just fighting the rats outside of Qeynos and it dropped.

Then I went for a streak of 2 weeks with no spell drops. Now at level 16, two adept I spells dropped within 10 minutes of each other. One was a shaman spell and the other was a cleric spell.

Badger of the something

Circle of Healing something.

I will try and sell them tonight on the merchant board.

It appears to me that SOE is limiting the Adept drops to only a few spells/abilities per each 10 levels. They probably did this so that the Sage App III's would have a marketplace. This was one of the major gripes from the Sage community given the "common" drop rate of such an "uncommon" item. Differnt Adepts appear to drop for the 2 different cities so the Black Market or Fence vendors are usually a good place to look.

IMHO, Sages should have made Adept I's and the drops should be App III. Seems a better solution than limiting the types of Adepts that drop.

When someone is lucky enough to harvest a rare they are going to make (or have made for them) the Adept3's for their own spell books, not for sale to other people. I've harvested two rares, and guess what? I now have two Adept3 upgrades in my book. That's one big reason why there are not a lot of Adepts on the market at this point.

If the rares dropped just a little more often, I would make Adept3's to sell to other folks. I'm sure other scholar types feel the same way. But I'm going to upgrade my own spells before I worry about everyone else.

The bottom line: what about MY needs?

I think you hit the nail on the head. Good assessment! That would and does make perfect sense. Can’t say I’m a complete happy camper about it but I see the purpose =)

I don't see many Summoner/Necromancer Adepts dropping, as evidenced by an almost total abscence of them on the market. In 20 levels, I've found exactly ONE (Petrify).
