So what kinda armor does a scout wear? (ok, ok, I'm being lay here, not looking it up). And since I've never played this type of toon, whats a scouts role in a group. If a tank takes hits, and a healer heals, and an enc crowd controls, what am I as a scout doing?

dps... you aren't a tank don't try as for armor i'm still lookin myself..
I did all the quests for armor. Wearing cordovan now. Sold my rapiers that I got from quests and bought iron ones. Your main role as a scout is damage. However you are not a tank so use HOs' and sneak attacks. Make sure to invest in some posion too. Posion really adds up on dual wield.
As scout you wear very light armor, as Predator you wear light armor and as Assasin you wear medium armor. I think it's the same for the other Scout trees but I'm not sure.
The only other role apart from DD would be puller but personally I prefer having the Tank get as much hate as possible before I start

yeah armor is the same no matter what path you choose. very light, light, medium.
