selling from your roomFollow

Lot of threads here about market buying and selling which I don't completely understand but I have very simple questions:

Can I only sell items when I am in my room?

When I visit another merchant's (PC) room to buy stuff is he/she actually there? Why can't I talk to him normally? I get context lists about tell etc but no hail.

Confused...

Yes, to go into vendor mode, you must be in your room. You must have purchased a bulletin board, first, also, as this is what you click on to become a vendor.

Yes, when you visit the vondors room, their toon is actually there. Oftentimes the person behind the toon is AFK.

As far as not being able to hail a vemdor, I dont know. I always use the broker. Might have something to do with being in Merchant mode though...

Yes, you can only sell items when you are in your room. You need to buy a marketboard to do so. Once you do, click on it and you will "access your store." Then you can set your prices and click on "start selling," and you are good to go.

You can buy from other players who are set up as merchants by either buying from the broker at a 20% mark up, or by visiting the room where they are listed. The broker lists the player's name and the room they are in. Enter the room, click on the merchant and you will get the option to buy from merchant.

As to the rest of your question I am not sure what you mean. I never tried to send a player in merchant-mode a tell, but I don't see why you can't do that. As to hailing them, never tried that either -- but I would assume they are afk if they are selling.
