Hunting AreasFollow

#1 Dec 15 2004 at 2:27 PM Rating: Decent
I'm hoping to start a thread where people can talk about where they hunt as they level up. I'm finding it a little difficult to find areas to hunt either solo or in groups simply because the game is new and areas need to be explored.
I've found the areas within Qeynos (oakmyst, caves, etc) have been working well for the early levels through the early teens.
Once I enter Antonica I'm having a hard time figuring out where to go to fight besides the Scarecrows and some Gnolls in groups. If people can start responding to this thread with ideas such as Lvl 10-12 Scarecrows, Lvl 12-15 gnolls, etc, I think it will help out a lot of people.

For solo, I beat up a few groups (3/4 with only one caster job in group if any) of green con gnolls in Antonica. I also hunted kodiaks and timberwolves. This was from 15-18ish, I believe. Got from 18 to 19 off of undead mobs in Firemyst Gully (obviously with a group). From 19 to 20, solo, I killed a few more gnoll groups, and added giant bears, thorn briars (iirc, that's what they're called) and darkclaw crabs. The bears were white con and the rest were blue/green.

If you (general you, not directed at anyone) want to exp grind, solo is not the way to go. Gotta group. That's where I don't have experience in. All I know is... BB was hell and Firemyst Gully is good for exp from around 16/17 to 20 (or 21). From 20, I keep hearing Stormhold is a good place to hunt.

I'd say get to level 13 around antonica (plenty of places just keep going deeper), you're about due to go to BLACKBURROW! Huzzah! What I always do is just tag along with someone to a new place, or form/join a group to go there. Blackburrow will provide excellent experience until about level 17 where you can either stay or move on around. With me I went to forest ruins --> antonica --> Blackburrow --> high level antonica monsters (for 1 level) --> Stormhold/Thundering Steppes. Just if you see a group advertising about a place you haven't been go ahead. Worst case scenario if you're too far in you can gate back.

7-10 Probably quests or yard trash
10-12 Bears at Oakmyst (bring a friend or more)
10-13 Forest Ruins (tower area ggrouped)
14-18 Firemyst gully is great if you can get Foulwind or flagged
13-17 Archers Woods, nice group of 14-16 ^^ deer near the pond there
17-20 Scarecrows near Steppes griffon station
17-20 Vermin Snye (lot of nice loot here off the names)
20-26 TS (Skellies near Ant, the north bandit camp is wonderful, the giants are good xp, and so is the spot se of varsoon. Lots of delicious skellies to bash)

Crypt of betrayl is a bit nasty, didnt find the xp too good there, and Stormhold = plenty of death, more from zone bugs then from lack of a good group. I dont know if they fixed it but mobs that wern't supposed to link, would, and they had mobs spawning outside their rooms, mobs that would respawn instantly after you killed 1 of the group, I hope they fix it soon i really do like the dungeon though.
