Berserkers and VanguardFollow

I hear a lot of people talking about how Guardians have an advantage over Berserkers because Berserkers cannot wear Vanguard. That is not true. If you go to Sony's website and click on the first person to subclass to Berserker and look at him, he is wearing Vanguard.

I have a decision to make between Berserker and Guardian. From what I can tell from the skill lists is that in total Guardian gets more defensive skills and Berserker gets more offensive. Anyone know how much of a difference there is between the two as far as damage goes? Obviously Berserkers will do more, but I am just wondering how much more.
