Names: prefix and SuffixFollow

Hi all, couple of questions about naming conventions

1. I've heard that you have to kill 500 of any type of NPC to receive a title. I am pretty sure that is true, any confirmation?
2. I've seen several different types of titles: knoll slayer of knolls, hunter of knolls etc. (all for the same type of NPC) are the increments for each title. for ex: 500 for hunter, 1000 for slay etc
3. I don't think i've gotten up to 500 yet, but periodically when attacking an NPC type a red banner comes up on my screen that states you are now a (title) of (type of NPC)does this mean I now have that title, if not then what is the point of being told via that banner that I am a slayer of knolls
4. how do you list the titles once you have received them, I am assuming it is under persona, then suffix or prefix, however after i have received several banners for knolls, undead, goblins and such, I still have no suffix or prefix titles. I don't believe though that I have kill 500 yet of any npc type, but I still get various banners from time to time.

None of this is critical, but it would be cool to understand it. thanks for your help

I have the same questions!
I too have received that notice you wrote about, but I can not pick any new titles.

(Gnolls, not Knolls...)

I'm wondering how one achieves a prefix to their name, since we know how to get a suffix...

You do not recieve a visible title until after 500 kills.

My question is----does this hold true with ANY mob, or just main type mobs (goblins, orcs, gnolls and skeletons).

It would be sort of cool to be "Killer of Cows" or if I am slumming it "Killer of Dung Beatles".

Curios if anyone has tested this out on non-standard mobs?

The notice boards only list Goblins, Gnolls, Orcs, Undead and Faerie.

I would imagine that is the limit of what they are recording and thus the only things you can get a title for.

I believe you get the "Hunter of Xxx" after killing 50 of said type mobs (Orcs, gnolls, goblins, undead etc). After 500 kills, you get the slayer title.

There are also ranks before attaining the titles. Those you see pop up here and there. You can't set those (I was diasppointed I couldn't have a goblin title when I left IoR :P).

When you get a title, it should be listed under Suffix.

*correction*

I am working on my ", Hunter of Fey" title atm. But, as stated, you must kill a minimum of 500 of that type to achieve your first visible title. I do not know beyond that. I do have around 900 kills on Orcs though so maybe I should go on a rampage in the commonlands for a bit.

Hrmm... There's quite a few people saying that you have to kill 500 of a type of mob to get the Hunter title. I never had to kill that many gnolls to get mine.

I am a born and bred citizen of Qeynos (started here, did not do betrayal quest) and I have killed less than 100 gnolls. Could one's starting affiliation matter?

I've crossed 1000 on undead and no "slayer of" title. I read elsewhere (and I don't remember where) that slayer is at 5,000 kills.

Edit: Also, I'm at 386 on orcs according to the wanted poster, and I cannot select "Hunter of Orcs". I'm reasonably sure that 500 is the cut-over for the hunter title.

You'll get messages with lower numbers (say, 100) but you won't get a visible title until 500. To the poster that said they had killed far less, chances are:
1. You have a title, but not a *visible* title (can't set a title in the Persona menu)
2. You killed more than you realize. Remember that any kill of a mob with that character model, even if it's grey and killed by a group member, counts toward the total. I was taken by surprise when I got my visible undead title. It can really creep up on you.

Yah, I have the Hunter title... I'll check my kills. I suppose I may have killed more gnolls than I realized. Hehehe.

Even though it isn't listed for whatever reason, you can also get Hunter of Elementals at 500 kills. You just can't check the poster since elementals are not listed.

I have heard that it is 500 kills to get the Hunter of XXX title, 2000 kills to get the Slayer of XXX title, and 5000 kills to get the Master Slayer of XXX title.

The title thing is nice but when you run into a huge group of people all with their titles showing it is horrible to see beyond that point. I keep spamming "/shownames off" but unfortunately it is not implemented yet.
