nope... at least it shouldn't be.... check the eq2 website FAQs about it, tho. the instructions that came with the starter kit are out of date (change or 2 come launch day). But other than that, you should have no problem.... Don't expect to be rippin around norath tho.... almost no noticeable difference.

you wear them instead of your regular boots, and it's a worn effect. not a huge difference, but it helps if you need to run and you are oop :). oh, and these are a different, less powerful pair than the quested ones later ingame.

click on "account" from the eq2 launchpad, then "edit billing" for eq2. You will then have a "Add JBoots" button you can click on to register your key.

once the key is attached to your account, if i remember correctly, you type /claim ingame, and you get a window listing the items available to claim. couple of paintings and a title if that account played eq1.

each item can only be claimed by *one* toon, so make sure you do it from the right one :).

been a while since i've claimed mine, but i think the boots have to be attuned to work, but they are tradeable until you attune them.
