Does anyone know which NPCs drop them for Warriors? Is it dependant on my hometown?

Ive Had one or two adept 1s drop, theyve come from chests that dopped from random encounters normally double arrow up ones. they seem pretty rare so best hold onto ones and trade them for what you need. as for the where your from i dont think it really matters just the lvl of the zone.
Do you have to get adept1s to be able to get adept3s?
So far as I know, they are random drops from chests that occasionally pop when you kill mobs. I don't think that any particular mob drops chests that would contain Adepts moreso than any others- if I'm wrong, maybe someone will share the info. I suspect that named mobs, appropriately, have a greater chance of dropping chests though.
It seems to be totally random for me. I get a drop on adept I about every level. They are never Pally ones tho...no fair!

all i know is that adept 3s are crafted, im still apprentice in my skills, not making a big effort to get adepts although i wouldnt say no to one.
You don't need to go through each level at all. You can go straight from App I to Master I if you are exceedingly lucky!
My advice would be to check the player market for AppIII or adept I spells before upgrading your spells to AppII.
ON the Adept III note...I beleive they are crafted from very rare harvests/drops, those you can see for sale for obnoxious amounts on the player market.

might harvest some materials and try trade them towards some adept3s rather than selling them for rediculous prices. anywhere i can get a list of what to look out for?
I'm afraid not...tho i have heard Coral and Silver are used in making Adept III.
try artisan sites such as http://www.eq2-artisan.com/ and see if they hold any info.

Adept III scrolls are crafted using advanced recipe books and rare precious metal and gems. Tier I rare resources are used to make Adept III for spells and abilities level 1-9. Tier II rares are used for levels 10-19. Tier III rares are used for levels 20-29. Tier IV for 30-39 and Tier V for 40-49.
I have found 2 silver and 1 coral in Antonica so far and used them all to make Adept III for my various characters. Its nice seeing Blaze Adept III toasting mobs for 100+ points of fire damage. haha
